I was unsure if this counts as a workshop but i had a meeting with the C.O.P.E. office this past week and they were trying to get me to work for 35 hours a week. They said they would help get me ( as well as everyone in the session) get ready for a job in the real world. I am not sure if it counts towards anything so please let me know. The session was interesting because we had two men who specialize in preparing people to find a job. The one thing I did not like is that I would have to work for 7 hours everyday (mon-fri) excluding school hours. This would make life so much harder and it is really not worth it since we are only getting paid in metrocards. Other students who recieve public assistance may be experiencing this too and if you get an appointment with the C.O.P.E. office they basicly want you to work.
