Breast Cancer Walk

Breast Cancer walk 2009 was taken place on Sunday, October 18th in Central Park. This year I decided not to walk for this cause but to volunteer. My group of friends and I were assigned as route marshals and guide walkers the right direction. Although our only purpose was to make sure walkers would stay on the sidewalk, we also cheerleaded for them encouraging them to keep walking in a rainy cold early morning. Even though it was really cold and raining all day long, we had a lot of fun because we got to share a good cause together. I was heart-touched when I saw all groups of people walking for this cause even in such bad weather conditions; a great variety of elderly citizens and young walkers. But what really encouraged me to continue cheering, although I was losing my voice, was the amount of survivors walking. They really gave me the motivation and energy to keep supporting the American Cancer Association every year.
