In the Academic Enrichment, Suicide workshop we were shown a documentary about suicide. People who had friends or family members who committed suicide spoke about the warning signs they missed in their friends that led to the suicide. The main point was that suicide is more common for college students than for any other age group so we should tell someone if friends show signs of depression. We got a list of places we can contact, who can help, and more readings about it. The short film we watched was depressing, but then people began talking about their friends who were depressed and wanted to commit suicide. Hearing people in the class talk about it rather than the video made it more real.
