Gallery Tour: Mercedes Matter: A Retrospective

This workshop was held on 135 22nd street. Basically it was a tour of Mercedes Matter’s art work. The gallery  was separated into 3 sections: her early, middle, & late works. Some of the paintings were interesting, like the still life, the tour guide told us she worked on one piece for 20 years! When she started off painting, she painted exactly what she saw in real life and as her work progressed, the paintings became much more abstract. Overall, the tour was a little boring.
