The Building and Maintaining Relationships in College workshop was held on October 8th 2009. When I first heard about this workshop, I thought it was about how to balance your school life with your personal life. Even though my assumption was right in a way, it was just a tiny part of what the workshop was really about. We discussed the importance of all types of relationships people have thought out their college life. Family, friends, personal, networking, and professional relationships. All of which, that can either support or distract a student in college in my opinion. A very big part of college is networking and getting to sell yourself to a crowd of people. I personally did not have a problem with meeting new people and introducing myself, because I think I am a open friendly person. Also because I love meeting new people and socializing. The workshop was interesting and useful, however I believe I had already known what the lady was saying. But I do think it was a good topic of conversation and would actually enjoy discussing the importance with some close friends.
