LC 15

Just to get used to blogging, I’d like to know a little more about each of you because I do not know much about you other than your names!

Include in your blog what high school you went to, background information, why you chose to attend baruch, as well as one interesting fact about yourself that your classmates and I do not know.

What has college been like for you these past few weeks? Does it seem similar/ different from high school? What kind of clubs/ organizations are you interested in joining? or even just how are you are spending your free time outside of classes?

My name is Jeremiasz Trzaskalski. I went to St. Francis Prep and didn’t like it much. Baruch so far has not been that bad. I wanted to go out of state to college, but didn’t have the money. So I go to Baruch and work whenever I’m not there. I agree with Ying Ping that Baruch is a little bland, but the academics aren’t bad, and I guess if I work harder I can do much better. It is one of the best business schools in the city, I’m just not sure I want to major in business anymore.

Hey my name is Bryan Bianca and I graduated from Monsignor Farrell High School. I attended catholic school my whole life on Staten Island and it is very different than Baruch. Baruch has been pretty fun so far because I always liked the city. The only thing that gets tiring is the long trip to and from school because I take transportation all the way from Staten Island. So far it has been pretty good here at Baruch and it will hopefully stay that way from here on out.

My name is Ying Ping Huang. I went to Baruch High School. I was born in China and came to the United States when I was two years old. Honestly, Baruch so far has been a little bland. The workload is okay, the workload I had in high school seemed so much more extreme. I take the same train as I did in high school. I’m in the same environment so, I’m a little tired of this place. Hoping to transfer out… if everything works out! I like everybody in our LC though! (:

Hello, My name is Qing Fang Wu. I graduated from Baruch High School. I was born in China and I came to the United States when I was one year old.
Even this semester is almost over, i felt like it went by pretty quickly. I think college is not as bad as I thought it would be but there are times where there are a lot of work to do.

  5. Hi, My name is Freddy Enrique Aguilar Escobar, but my white shorter name is Freddy Aguilar. I went to W.C Bryant High School in Queens, definetly had some great times in that school. I’m have fun in college and it’s pretty cool, although the work load is getting a bit over whelming. I’m glad i made the decision of joining the LC, i’ve met some cool people and I hope there are more good times ahead =D

Hello my name is Jurgis Saparauskas. I usually call myself George. Its a long story how I got that name, but to put it shortly, one of my parent’s friend decided to call me Jorge and eventually I adopted the name George. Anyway, I went to New Utrecht High School. I am full Lithuanian with some other mixes along the line. I was born there and I came to this country in 2001. At the moment I’m really enjoying Baruch. I met a lot of cool people in different places, especially the game room (lol). The LC is also a really good thing. We stick together lol. I hope my four years here will be good and I’m looking forward to it.

Hi everyone by now everyone knows my name is Kamila, the last name is the unknown part, it’s Nurullina. I went to E.R. Murrow High School. Had an amazing four year experience there. It really prepared me for college by giving me all the freedom i now have in college if not more. I was born In Uzbekistan, Tashkent. I came here in March 2002. My nationality is actually Tatar not like most people think Russian. Although Russian is my primary language. I also understand Tatar and Uzbek and a couple of others, i speak a bit of French, whatever i learned in High School. I really hope to learn to speak fluently at least two more languages. I love to travel i mean i doubt many don’t.So yeah that’s me..and as far as college is going…well it could’ve been worse.

Hey! I’m Har-Anmol Chawla. I graduated from North Shore High School. I am a Sikh and Punjabi and very proud of it! I am still 17 years old, most likely one of the youngest in this LC. Even though i was born in New York, my family is from India. I am very attached with my culture, i really enjoy celebrating all the holidays and dressing up and dancing in the traditional indian outfits. I am also very much into indian, punjabi music, hip hop etc.

So far my experience at Baruch as been pretty awesome, i have met and made friends with a bunch of new people. So far i have joined Club India as well as USA, the United Sikh Association and i have recently just signed up for VITA.
Anyway we’ll see how everything ends up..hopefully it’ll be great for everyone! 🙂

  9. Kelleh Jian says:

Hello hello! I’m Kelleh Jian and I graduated from James Madison High School. I was born in China, moved to Peru when I was six years old and came to the U.S. five and a half years ago. I’m currently nineteen years old; probably the oldest in LC15.

I chose Baruch because it was the most convenient option; affordable, descent reputation among top colleges/universities in the business field and practical location. Although I have to say Baruch is not my type of “dream college,” it was the best choice based on my economic stability and possible major.

College is definitely a distinct environment in all aspects. Besides the greater amount of work relative to high school, college is much more independent. I don’t only have to stay on top of doing all my homeworks and studying for tests, but also fulfilling extracurricular activities such as FRO requirements. So far, I’ve unofficially joined two clubs: VITA and ASCEND (NAASA.) My first VITA meeting is tomorrow during club hours.

Hi, my name is Megha Panchal and I finally figured out how this works. Anyways, I graduated from Queens Gateway to Health Sciences Secondary School, which is located in Jamaica, Queens. I was born in New York, however my family is from India. Although I was born here, I believe that I am very attached to my Indian culture. For example, the last nine nights I have spent going to the temple to celebrate a festival called Navirati. These nights were filled with colorful Indian attire and groups of people dancing in circles. I know that was not the best explaination I could have given, but it’s just one of those things you have to see for yourself.
So far my experience at Baruch as been a plesant one. I don’t have anything to really complain about and definately looking forward to the years to come. As of now I’m joining the club India and hopefully a bollywood dance club that some girls are trying to start. We’ll see how everything will end up.

College has been alright, except for all the reading we are assigned. Since I am active, i joined the handball club. I hope to join more clubs in the future.
