I made it there later than everybody else, so it was not crowded at all. I actually left more confused than I entered. Why does my minor have to be liberal arts, i\I want a major in management with a minor in entrepreneurship. What classes do I need to take to graduate with my major, all I know is a couple of pre-requisites and I feel like I don’t know them all. Over all I feel I will definitely be at the Starr Center this semester.
i had to go back there today to actually get enlightened about wat i needed to know. also didnt get folder and cookies =[
I didnt get a folder or cookies. I was very disappointed because I had to stay for a ten minute lecture. Mad people showed up though.
Like everyone said, it was really crowded. I was able to get into the room but it was really small with 4-5 tables. It’s impossible to fit so many undergrads in that room. I got a folder but I didn’t really talk to any of the advisers that were there. They didn’t expect so many of us to go that workshop. I hope not all the workshops are like that.
Crowded like crazy! Cookies ran out and so did the folders and incidentally so did the fun……the only thing i got was i saw an academic advisor who is now my friend and I will see her for my next semester. Other than that, it was a disappointment.
The freshmen reception was very crowded and disorganized. I only got the folder they gave out at the entrance and a signature. I didn’t learn anything from this workshop. I saw that almost everyone just wanted to get a signature and leave.
I believe the freshman reception was a complete disaster. I recieved nothing from it because I could not even walk through the hallway to the classroom. I hope the other workshops are not the same way.
The freshmen reception was kinda of a disappointment. Unfortunately what Harrison said is true, I got nothing from this experiance but a signature in a book
On the Academic Advisement Workshop, the advisers weren’t prepared for such a big turnout. That is why it was unorganized. They had planned 200 students but about 1000 to 2000 came said the adviser’s leader. Usually it would just be another workshop, but this year they promoted it as a part of the mandatory freshman seminar workshops. So there were not enough refreshments for everyone and the raffel I think didn’t happen. I did get in one of the rooms to hear the advisers speak. We were actually sent to empty rooms throughout the fifth floor because the original room wasn’t big enough to accomodate all of us. In the room, the adviser talked to us about majors and minor and having to take specific courses if we want to be accepted by the different schools at Baruch, the Zicklin, etc. Everything she talked about she says is in the pamphlets she gave out. Unfortunately not everyone got the pamphlet, but if you want one they will have more on Monday in the Academic Advisement center.
Yup, went to the fifth floor at 12:30 and it was way too crowded. We left to eat lunch and came back to find that there was no more line. So, it was just a matter of getting our books signed and walking out lol. They didn’t even tell us anything, so what did I learn? –Nothing
I also found it very crowded. i was all the way in the back and thought that it could have been organized a little bit better.
I agree with you it was very crowded. I did get a folder but I didn’t get go inside. The folder was pretty helpful. Did anyone go inside? What did they talk about?
