Public Speaking is not necessary for all occupations but It is useful to have public speaking skills regardless of whether you will exercise it as often in the future. It is useful in that it can help improve your speaking skills, build confidence in yourself, voice your opinions, and in communications in general.

I am not that comfortable talking in front of a group of people but I hope to improve throughout the years.

I am not a big fan of presentations, but if I have to do them, I do. Public speaking is very useful for the business world. It can really help you succeed.

I enjoy public speaking. It makes me feel like I have something to offer. I admit I tend to be nervous at first, but I move past it quite quikly. As a future entrepreneur, peer sex educator, youth development specialst, and community organizer, I tend to do quite a bit of speaking in front of groups. I have not gotten it quite perfct yet, but that comes with practice.

I don’t enjoy public speaking, but I do think its necessary to become more comfortable with it especially if I want to be in business. Public speaking is a great skill to learn because it’ll help you communicate your ideas with other better and speak those ideas with confidence so others will take you seriously. At this time, I still get really nervous in front of a crowd, but I feel I’m getting less and less nervous with each presentation I do. I think Baruch is really great at getting you to start early which will help me to be ahead of the curve in public speaking when I graduate college.

  6. I really enjoy public speaking. It’s a chance to allow others to learn more about me through my words. The only concern to me is to not look stupid and know my information or else I forget what to say and can’t improvise quickly enough. Nevertheless, public speaking is a must. The point of living with other people is to communicate, so talking to a lot of people is just another part of communication.

I don’t like doing presentations especially individual presentations. I tend to get nervous but throughout the past few years, I did some presentations and as I did more I was a little more comfortable with them. I think it is necessary in order to interact with others and present certain things to others like your thoughts or ideas.

Well for me public speaking became easier as the years went by. When I was in junior high school I used to get extremely nervous and pause for each sentence. Later on in high school after I had to present in front of a whole bunch of buisness people it became almost second nature. Just memorize everything you are going to say before hand and when you go up to present you do not have to look at any power point even though it will still be there.

There are times when I’m not nervous and there are other times when I’m extremely nervous. It depends on a lot of things but I do know I have a lot of bad habits I have to break. I say “uhh” and “you know?” a lot.

  10. I’m not the best puclic speaker but I’m most likely going to be a corporate communications major so I probably need public speaking.

I’m sort of a shy person, but when I get to know people better, I’m okay with public speaking. I don’t really enjoy it, but it’s not the worst thing to do either. I think it’s very necessary in everything that you do, because it reflects who you are and what your potentials are.

Personally, i do not like making a presentation especially by myself, but i still feel that public speaking is a skill that should be learned. This will be helpful for one’s future job.

I don’t enjoy presenting in front of the class. I do get nervous when I get up there but it is just a matter of time when I get used to speaking. Yes, it is necessary because in a workplace, you will be interacting with many different people. you definitely need your communication skills to be as perfect as possible.

  17. I think public speaking can be a very useful skill. It’s important for people to be able to feel comfortable when talking in front of large groups of people, because it’s something that’s quite commonplace today.

Personally I love doing it. I love going up on a stage an improvising something. But eh, not for everyone.
