Using and Evaluating the Web for Research

I thought this workshop was useful for research. At this workshop, I learned how to limit my search by using quotations, specific keywords, adding to the search result, and also by including the type of source like education or government by just adding “edu” or “gov”. I also learned to look for credibility and reliability. Other research tips can be found on Google as well.

Club Fair

So I went to club fair, and in my opinion it was a bit unorganized. The line was so long to get in that I’m sure some people did not get lunch, the gym was definitely to small to fit everybody, and when i asked who should sign my planner, nobody knew who supposed to do it so they said my advisor was supposed to.

Other than that i signed up for a couple of interesting clubs. Archery, Billiards, Karate, a couple of volunteer groups, and a leadership group.

Challenge your values – Let’s talk about ethics Workshop

I went to this workshop last Tuesday, and it was actually pretty interesting. The speaker talked about what ethics is,  and she gave us various scenarios to help us understand better about ethics.  She also gave us few tips about avoiding plagiarism, and even showed us examples of correct citation.  It was clear to me that she knew what she was talking about, and I thought it was very helpful!

Art Gallery Tour

I went to the art gallery tour today and it was kind of boring. They were all a bunch of photographs and I couldn’t hear what the lady was saying.
