There was a father who was very proud of his three daughters. Every night he took a stroll around the house to make sure everything was all right. One night when he was doing his stroll, he could hear laughter coming from his youngest daughters room. He stood there for a while and thought about this, but reached the conclusion that he could always ask her tomorrow, instead of bothering her at this time of the night. When he reached the window of his second daughter, he could hear her crying. He thought about this too, but ultimately he decided to ask her tomorrow and continued. There were no sounds at all coming from his oldest daughters room, and he then went to bed, satisfied. The next day, when they all were gathered around the breakfast table, he said to his youngest daughter, “I heard you laughing last night, as I walked past your window. Why was that?” She answered, “Thats because you taught me to laugh when someone was making me happy.” He then asked his second daughter, “I heard you crying last night, why was that?” She answered “Thats because you taught me to cry when someone was hurting me.” He then told his oldest daughter, “I didnt hear anything from you…” She said, “Thats because you taught me not to talk with my mouth full.”
Clubs?
So does anyone know any cool clubs to join? The club fair was pretty bad in my opinion. I want a fun club that has nothing to do with anthropology, english , calculus or public administration if you know what I mean. Nothing too physically tiring either.
Database Survival
I went to the library to hear the guy talk about how the baruch database can be used. There is a lot of information that we are given for free. For example you dont have to buy the New York Times because it is all in the newspaper section of the Baruch library website. Not only that there is a lot of magazines that are also available but the only problem is that you have to know what articles you want so you have to put in a certain phrase or certain name to get results. Reuters is not offered online so the only way you can use that is by going to the library or the stock quotes location whatever they call that. The database survival thing was pretty quick so if you didnt get your academic enrichment part of your workshop signed yet this is a very easy workshop. Show up and listen.
Film Series Workshop–Global Awareness
Today, I went to the film series workshop for Global Awareness. I sat there for twenty minutes waiting for the film to start, when I was informed that the film wouldn’t start. Nevertheless, I managed to get a signature for this event.
student services fair
I went to this workshop last week. When I go there I thought it was odd that we had to have holes punched on a card to get your paper signed. Well i didnt know that to get each hole you had to ask a question at each station. In the end, it all worked out for the best because as I got many questions answered about internships and student life activities. I also got to learn more about the study abroad program.
have fun
As the taxi came to a screeching halt at a traffic light,I asked the driver,”Do you agree that ‘Time is money’?” “Well,it’s a very common saying.Who will care so much about that?”the driver answered . “Look, the digits in the meter are still running when the car has stopped,”I pointed at the meter. “Oh.yes.You’ve got a point here,In this case, time is money for both of us,”added the driver.
Correction about the Global Awareness workshops
Sorry, guys. I was mistaken, there are two Global Awareness workshops that are left. The one tommorrow, is a film series that goes from 2:50pm to 4:30pm at VC 5-150, and the second one is a blood drive held December 2. For those of you who don’t want to donate blood, I strongly recommend you to go to the one tommorrow.
Be careful when you look for a club
Today, I went to look at this club called BaruchCeo’s. It had a really interesting name and an interesting description. Yet, I couldn’t find the club. The room (that was listed on the Student Club website) was completely empty. So I think that some of the clubs that are listed on the Student Organization website don’t even exist.

Working upon Raymond’s idea… + lazer tag anyone?
Before Raymond said that we should all go see a movie, he suggested Paranomal. Well, I’m down with that idea, sounds fun, popcorn, soda, movie theather arcade games.. bright lights, laughs, think about it, I guess you can call it a “bonding” opportunity, specially for us that are going into business. Come on you guys, we need networking, say something funny.
Okay, maybe paranormal isn’t the best movie, Raymond said the girls were *cough* scare to see it. Well *cough* BAWK *cough .. nothing wrong with that, but wouldn’t it be cool to say, “Oh yea the LC at baruch, we went to see paranormal and someone pee’d his pants, and this other guy screams like a girl..”, among other anecdotes, we’ll remember it for a good while.
Maybe another suggestion for a movie..
Toy Story 2? maybe? Im serious here, i want to go see it, but i don’t wanna look like a little kid going in by myself specially when its 3d and stuff.
okay how about the Michael Jackson one. its on Oct23, and supposily its going to be bad ass, and if not we can trash it, and be like, “yea the michael jackson moviee.. sux, shoulda seen paranomal, waste of a perfectly good $12 and 2 hours”.
Or…
We could all just go with our original plan and go play LAZER TAG!
I googled this place in nyc and its called “Lazer Park” and its at times square. the address is :
1560 Broadway entrance at 163 W 46th St
New York, NY 10036
anyways we could do this on a monday or wensday after english. and heck, we should tell woo to come.
anyways yea thats all.
feel free to pitch in some more ideas.
