I thought that the library tour on the first day of school was very interesting and beneficial. It has helped me a lot as to learning where particular things are categorized in the library.  For example, I would have to buy a calculator for my math class if I wasn’t told that the library will offer me free rental for the whole semester. Many times my friends and I would come to the library during our long hours of endless breaks and we thought at first that we would have to wander around to find out where things belongs. However, it’s all clear to us now that we had the tour on the first day.  Thanks Michelle for making our freshmen year life a little less stressful.  =]

The library tour given to us on the first day of school was informative and useful. To freshman students, the library is a new place that we are not familiar with and yet it may be one of the places where we would most often be at during our time in Baruch. The tour introduced us to the different features of  the Newman Library and the many services offered to us. We were brought to different floors of the library and were told where we could find computer and printing services. The many advantages offered in a library makes it an important part of the education process. It is the place where many people go to for studying time and research resource. Some may even go there for relaxation time in a quiet and calm atmosphere. Therefore, the library tour was useful and  it is definitely a place that should be introduced to freshman students.

Ok so let’s see….wat can I say abt the library tour on the day of freshman convocation day -_-

I actually liked the library a lot. It was a very gud thing to see a lot of computers because I figured that’s where I’m gonna be spending most of my time anways, whether it’s to do hw or just get away from home hehehe 🙂 At first I was kinda intimidated cuz there was a lot of older students hanging around the library but then I got over it. Everyone seems to be doing their own thing anyways. It’s cool that the library itself has 5 floors and then another 3 or 4 floors for other resources. At first I was confused about where certain things were, but I figured I could always learn on my own. Maybe next time it could be a more clear, esp. for freshmen students 🙂  Overall, I guess I was just tired from the day’s activities so I wasn’t really into the tour. Nonetheless, it kinda encouraged me to take advantage of a such a big library and so I tend to go to it amost everyday just to hang out or do hw 🙂
