On September 18th I attended two different workshops. After my freshman reception workshop ended I stumbled upon a library workshop. At the workshop the librarian taught us how to use many of Baruchs plethora of resources. Although we had a short library tour during seminar, I learned about things in depth in this workshop. I learned about study rooms and borrowing laptops and calculators. I also learned that we can renew our books online to avoid late fees and we may borrow as many books as we wish.
The librarian was very friendly and she emphasized that all of Baruchs librarians are always willing and eager to help. She introduced to us a live chat available to students who wish to speak with a librarian at any time of the day. This will be useful when doing a research project. There are many programs and software available for students to use and borrow. For example, if you want to study for the SimNet exam, they have Excel on the computers for you to practice. They also have CDs available to students so they may borrow it and practice at home. Although the librarian didn’t want to brag, she mentioned Baruch had one of the best libraries in the city!
