On September 13th I attended the Academic Enrichment workshop at the Freshmen Reception. At the very beginning I was given packet of documents, which took me through the list of classes that I would have to take over the course of my program at Baruch. I was able to speak with Sarah Wagner, who was one of the many advisors present at the workshop. She helped me go through the list of classes that were required and helped me understand the differences between the Tier 1,2 and 3 categories. moreover I was able to go through a list of Minors that were available at Baruch and she helped me narrow down a few based on the major I have planned to take. She was also able to go over my classes and helped me figure out what requirements I still need to fulfill.
Overall the workshop gave me an idea of what classes I should be taking over the next few semesters. The advisor was very helpful and made planing for future semesters all the more easier. Now going to the advisement center makes it easier as I know the advisors. I know when I am faced with a question regarding my classes I can always return to familiar faces.
