FRO Internships and Career Planning Workshop

On November 10, I attended the workshop on Career Plan. The workshop was lead by Theresa Conway and was mainly focused on the familiarization with the facilities offered by the STARR Development Center. The workshop coordinator was also the director for internships at Baruch and hence we were able to get a better insight on how STARR development Center could help us find internship, leadership programs, and jobs. At the seminar we also talked about resume writing and how to prepare for an interview. The coordinator helped us narrow down a list of probable work objectives and working environments as she guided us through the internship booklet. The workshop also made me aware of a lot of major companies that come to Baruch and the events that are held all throughout the year.

Overall the workshop was very informative on the services available at Baruch. It helped me understand the importance of keeping a good GPA and being involved in club activities and events. The coordinator also brought to our attention how competitive the current job market was and encouraged us to take advantage of the facilities offered by the STARR center.
