Arts At Baruch

On Tuesday November 17, 2009 I visited an Arts At Baruch Workshop at the Sidney Mishkin Gallery from 1:00P.M.-2:30P.M..  This exhibit displayed the works of Mercedes Matters who was a Modern Art painter from the twentieth century.  The guide was very knowledgeable about the artist and explained to us how the works became more abstract as the artist got older.  I personally prefered the artist’s earlier works as they were more naturalistic, but I still enjoyed the energy of some of the abstract works as well.  When I came to Baruch, I did not even kinow that we have an art gallery so this experience also taught me more about the school itself.
