Mercedes Matter a Retrospective

On November 17th I attended the art workshop at the Sidney Mishkin Gallery around the corner from the 23rd street building. The line for the tour was very long but luckily I got there early and was part of the second group that got to go on the tour. The tour was very short and was about the different abstract paintings that Mercedes had made throughout her life. The tour guide knew many things about each individual artwork and told us that as Mercedes got older her artwork got more abstract and she liked using the shape of a triangle in her artwork.
