Coloring Up Your Future

On November 12th, 2009 I attended the Global-Community Awareness Workshop called Coloring Up Your Future. At this workshop Alfonso Quiroz, an openly gay politician spoke about his experience of running for public office. Most of his talk was about his background in politics began with his internship at the White House under President Clinton some of the other jobs that he has held since then such as his jobs at MTV and Con Edison. He also spoke about how he got more ridicule over being a mix of races then he did for being gay. This was a very interesting and informative workshop which gave me insight into some of the events that occurred in Alfonso Quiroz’s life and career.
