Global-Community Awareness

On December 1st I attended the Global Community and Awareness workshop. Professors from the Art, English and Political Science department were present as a visiting professor spoke on the relationship between migration and religion. The professor’s studies had her mainly focused on the migration patterns among Vietnam citizen to east and central Germany. She also noticed a relationship between large pentecostal churches in native countries being established as a result of these migration patterns. Most of the Vietnamese people had being migrating due to religious oppression in their own country. As a result they seek religious and personal freedom in European and Western countries. The result of this said migration has resulted in the movement of their religious groups too.

Overall the workshop enlightened my knowledge on immigration as a global movement and how culture and religion are transmitted across the oceans as a result.
