Ricky Chang – Last blog

Baruch has been quite the learning experience. I love the freedom to choose our own schedules according to our tastes and I love how Baruch students are given access to computers almost at every corner. I have learned familiar material from my courses, but I was able to look at them in a new perspective. However, I have to admit the entertainment is not very satisfying or in better words, not very entertaining. Baruch would be just perfect if it had a little campus feel to it, but Baruch is satisfying (in some aspects) nonetheless.

Ricky- Monologue

I’M SO SORRY FOR THIS VERY LATE BLOG! I completely forgot about it. I hope this goes through.
My name is Ricky Chang and when we’re talking about me; I would like to start with my family because that’s where everyone’s origin starts. My family has this strict rule where I’m not allowed to eat in my room next to my computer or anything because the family should eat together. Occasionally we eat in the living room to watch something, but still we remain together at dinner. In Baruch, I’m pretty happy because there is so much freedom and the responsibility is put on me. This responsibility may be a burden to some people, but I like handling my own issues. A thing I hate about myself is my mindset to be a perfectionist; it might not seem like a bad thing, but let’s admit human’s aren’t perfect. Being a perfectionist is a burden when you’re in technical drawing trying to make everything just at the right point on the paper.

Who Am I? – Ricky

Who am I? My last name is Chang and my first name is Ricky. I am a Baruch student looking for a pathway to success and my main academic interests include mathematics and economics. However, I do not know the specific career or job position I am going for since math has so many opportunities to offer. I find most of my professors to be respectable people, who respect students and realize the independence we expect from this university. Some classes, which I expected to be boring (since I’m retaking them) are actually surprisingly stimulating; for example, I’m seeing calculus in a different more refined perspective compared to my view of it in junior year of high school. Some things, when reviewed, offer something new each time despite its familiarity. I enjoy Baruch for the most part, students are extraordinarily formal and polite; this was actually something I didn’t expect. As for my classes, I expect many As. A little ambitious or even conceited? Well, that was what I was going for.

Intro Blog- Ricky Chang

This is my intro blog. I realize it is a little late, but I’m hoping it will pass through. Anyways, Baruch is really cool especially the library and the freedom; the Vertical Campus is a really beautiful building too. However, I’m a bit worried about what we’re going to be tested on in sociology. Goals? At least a 3.8 GPA. I feel like it is pretty doable (I don’t think that is slang, but I don’t know). I really hope my calculus teacher will stop reviewing algebra and teach us new material soon!
