Unfortunately I had to attend an event to make up for the the late blog post. The event that I went to was the “BP Disaster and the future of the energy business” quite a long title isn’t it. T.T I would like to say i enjoyed it but….. T.T not really. I don’t know whats wrong with me but when it comes to school and other stuff i find it hard to stay awake when i get bored. I’ve often been told in many of my classes that i fall asleep to often. Truthfully I would write a compelling paragraph about how this was exciting but i would be making half the stuff up. One thing that i would tell you is that when i was looking at the list of events i noticed that there were large amounts of events that are available to us. One thing that i found mind boggling about the B.P disaster was on how long it took to resolve the problem, but now that its over……., well its over and that’s that no point in dwelling on the past. Hope you enjoyed reading this.

Well it was a good run….. mabey not
November 17th, 2010 Written by johnathan.chang | Comments Off on Well it was a good run….. mabey not
Upon coming to Baruch I held certain preconceptions of how the college experience would be like. I would like to say that Baruch shattered all my expectations but I really didn’t know what to expect. Baruch I feel is a great environment and if not for the long commute to school it would be perfect in my eyes. Unfortunately I stumbled upon the fact that environment isn’t the only factor in a successful college experience. It is the will of the student and the ability to progress and learn that makes him successful and I have failed on all fronts. My first semester has gone Way out of my league, I failed muster any will on getting things done and the fact that this blog post is late is proof of that itself. And if I was ever given a chance to do it all over again I would have changed everything, the effort i put into classes the attitude i had when debating on whether or not i would work. Just everything . Upon entering Baruch my views on life as a whole changed, It brought a light that is unfamiliar to me, I’ve always been told to do well in school, work hard but i was always given an easy life, never had to work for anything, never had to struggle in class but now that I’ve experience my first semester in Baruch i believe I can do better the next time around and hopefully not make the same mistakes twice.

Monologue
October 13th, 2010 Written by johnathan.chang | Comments Off on Monologue
Sigh after presenting the monologue we have to post it on a blog T.T I was hoping to forget It. Well the monologue i gave in freshman seminar was on a embarrassing childhood event that happened when i was in kindergarten or near it. I would remember waking up in a brightly colored room with toy blocks, colorful wallpaper and see other kids. Seeing as how this was quite a while ago my memories don’t fair too well in this situation, so forgive me if some of what i say may seem out of place or incorrect because it probably is. Well as a kid i didn’t know much English so I was always quite confused and out of it. (kinda like how i am today except i know English) One day when i woke up from nap time or something like it, the teacher made an announcement he said or probably said something like “congratulations your moving onto the next grade, your all gonna be moving to the next room next summer”(moving to the next room back then symbolized shifting grades well at least that’s how i remembered it), but what i heard was”……..your moving…………… next room next……………”. So the next day i promptly moved to the next room and spent the whole day there. At the end of the day the teacher for that room said “Oh wait, your not my kid”. There were people laughing and a whole fuss was made and at the end of the day when i finally realized what had happened I was afraid to show my face in class from that point on.
Well that’s my monologue and probably all that I can remember about my early childhood years, hoped you enjoyed it or you wasted all of the one or two minutes reading this.

hi…..

To anyone reading this post if you see Johnathan.Chang on the side it’s misspelled and I’m the lazy bum that refuses to find out how to change it so if you would pls just keep in mind that the first h in my first name isn’t suppose to be there, Ty.
Hi my name is Jonathan Chang, I was born and raised in flushing New York. I live in a quiet neighborhood in Flushing, Queens, and as to the type of person I am, I guess I would be considered a dull and quiet guy. I would be the type of person to sit in the corner of the class and most of the class of km3 probably won’t hear my voice. During high school I spent 3 years on the Francis Lewis track and field team, which was defiantly an interesting experience. And I enjoy playing video games.
My top 3 concerns for my freshman year at Baruch college would be commuting, Public speaking and time. Commuting has always been a problem for me. Just getting to school takes me an hour to an hour and a half, 2-3 hours of my day is used up just going to and from school, a 7am class would force me to wake up at 5:30. Ever since I was kid I’ve had trouble with communication and interaction with other kids and people and that trait has carried on with me all the way to college. Public speaking in my opinion would be the most difficult wall for me to climb during my stay in Baruch but no wall is to tall to climb. I’m lazy, anyone reading this late blog would know that I’m not a productive person. Time constraints will be a huge problem now that it takes 3 hours of my day just to go to and from school and being lazy doesn’t help. T.T it feels weird writing this but I think i just gotta man up and do my work from now on.
As of now I really don’t see many differences of high school and Baruch college. The only differences as far as I can tell are longer classes and more time in between them. So the transition between high school and college has been quiet smooth.
Well i hope that after this first year I would be able to manage time more effectively and that I would get used to the commute. As a side note I really don’t think 90% of the class really read blogs or at least this one so to anyone who read my blog up to now, really what are you doing……….. wasting your time here reading this poorly written blog.
