I attend a school immaculate and absolutely free of any sort of drama. Each day expresses the same inane humdrum devoid of salience and features a virtuous population of underexposed, introvert clones. Deviance is bereaved and consistency manifests, leaving behind a putrid, sickening miasma of uniformity. Every night I dread waking up the next day with the burden of entering this cesspool of jejunity in search of acceptance and acknowledgment from my peers. Baruch has taken my identity hostage, continuously ripping out pieces of me, only allowing me to temporarily reclaim it at the end of every week. Perhaps itβs time that Iβm ready to be assimilated into this society. Maybe itβs time to finally die.

Wow. Nice post, Brian. I always find the posts about Baruch College most interesting. Had to look some words up in the dictionary, but other than that, this is a nice insight into the mind of Brian Choy.
*The last line??? Please elaborate so as not to cause unnecessary worry or initiate speculation.
Is becoming apart of Baruch that bad to you? Does it feel like the “end” almost?
Looking forward to your reply!
death in terms of character. lol im not suicidal. in a different light, im just saying baruch is too serious and there’s nothing interesting happening. or maybe im oblivious. i checked out the clubs and whatever but it was meh. only thing that piqued my interest was a modern warfare 2 competition but i dont play on xbox. plus i dont understand the concept of a fraternity and having to perform a multitude of pointless stuffs.
haha he’s giving into what the general public expects. in terms of whats popular and whats “normal”. a sad turn of events for scholars if they can really be called that anymore. anyhow frats are for networking/connections which is the main factor for success in the US or.. in a lot of other countries. Education only takes us so far but the networking takes us leaps and strides in comparison to what education can. education is nothing more than for what it is.. information and the ability to apply what is learned in different aspects of our lives. Following the flow of his post.. if he was to talk of suicide would it have been so straight forward :P?
And of course being a part of Baruch is something someone shouldn’t want to fall into doing. When attending a college shouldn’t one draw from the institution what is wanted and later on see what can be gained? to say that being a part of baruch isn’t so bad is to say its okay to fall into the place where society wants us to fit. Shouldn’t we live to question the status quo?
following the mentality of ‘majority wins’ and ‘if you cant beat them, join them’ wouldnt you say the brighter path is conformity? there’s absolutely no point in defeating the standard, deviant from the norm or being unique in any way. society wills us to perform our respective tasks dutifully to keep the nation running. college prepares us for this and useless things such as individuality and free will serves only to get in the way.
to keep the nation running? that makes me laff. colleges may want us to learn to get along and become absorbed but in the end it is our choice on what to do. there is a point in deviating from the norm. if everyone went along with the given and never tried to separate themselves or produce new ideas would we ever have new inventions? wouldn’t people be riding in carriages? why bother with new cars and all the technology? why not just get a horse? why be different? if life is a river on which we raft do we follow the flow or go against the current? college is just another brisk but strong current that pushes us with the flow of the river.
does your mentor even bother rereading the posts when there are new comments ._.? lol the conversations between two drop outs
we do need members of society who dont take initiative and do what they’re told to keep the nation running. there will always be people who are exceptional and ‘unique’ but the question is whether i should be assimilated into baruch’s norms or not and nothing further. this post is a biased opinion based on my observations. however untrue it may actually be, this is what i observed and attacking my observations may change my overlook on the school, but it will not change what i saw. stop asking me questions and state your opinion.
im not sure lol. i think he cares more about the blog post than the conversation that spurs from it. but hey, dropping out isnt necessarily a bad thing. as long as you know where you’re going.
my opinion does not matter as i am arguing your point. as i have said the socratic method π are you supporting conservative views because you say we must allow people to suffer in their ignorance? i have not attacked your opinions in any sort of way. i merely ask questions if you take it to be an attack on your views then are you struggling to answer a few questions upon a view that you have decided to take?
he might have asked if you were going to kill yourself but if you had answered yes and your note of suicide were to be written here in response.. he would not have read it lol
well if you dont have an opinion and you’re just waiting on me to mess up and contradict myself, there’s nothing for me to gain by continuing this ‘argument’ with you.
lmfao. he’ll read it a month later when everyone’s mandatory post is due. suicide’s a touchy topic nowadays -.-
lol eh suicide is suicide. and i do have an opinion but if we argue opinions we’ll literally go no where if we are both stubborn about it. which we are. questioning merely shows flaws or patches π of course if every country that was being attacked said they had nothing to gain from being attacked and that was that a lot of countries probably wouldn’t have been attacked. if a child could refuse vegetables just because he didnt see any benefits from arguing then he wouldn’t be a very healthy child eh? to avoid arguments and objections is no different than claiming ignorance! fight for it bukchoy!
oh yea and text me when you need something lol.. my aim is just basically on in case someone wants to drop a message that i can respond to later on. texts are those instant replies π unless im in class.
Actually I have been following both comments on this blog post seeing as how I am one of the admins….nice to see an author & an outsider actually engage in heated discussion.
