My college experience live up to my expecation but my expecation wasnt that great. I knew coming to a cuny I would not recieve the full college experience. Im glad I met some cool people and made it to team Baruch (and future RA). Since as of right now I am not dorming still living at home it doesnt feel that great of a change from highschool only difference I actually do homework and study now. I love commuting to the city, its an amazing place and the city has so much to offer but I regret not going away from college and experiencing more freedom. I am not trying to say that Baruch isnt a good college, its actually really good but I see my friends that go to college out of the city and they seem to be enjoying themselves more than me. Maybe this changes next semster, I hope it does. Maybe when i hopefully become an RA this changes.

I completely agree with you about the thoughts you had about coming to a CUNY school and knowing deep down that the experience will be good but not great. You’ll have fun and meet new people but won’t be able to post as many new and exciting pictures on Facebook with your roommate or door buddies because you are living at home and still commuting back and forth.
Congratulations on making it in to TEAM Baruch! It is a fun but have to stay on top of things. For instance not posting this blog by Thursday December 2nd would NOT fly if you are hired as a Freshman Seminar Peer Mentor, Juan. You can’t brush things off and still expect to get hired in positions where your word is binding and breaking it looks more than bad.
It was a pleasure to have you as one of my students in class (when your cell phone was away!). I hope we stay in touch. I hope you continue to work hard like you did going to the writing center and continue to have a VOICE when it comes to class participation.
Good luck in FINALS and on ending your 1st semester of college on a strong note. And I hope you do apply to become a Peer Mentor and an RA….I wish you nothing but the best man.
