I’m a freshman of baruch college, and i’m going to persue my brighter future by studying hard at Baruch. I also intersted in art and dance. I’m a painter and i’m also an amateur at dance.
My three concerns about my freshman year at Baruch are good greade, fully experience college life, and have a good start for the rest of my studying, because these are all important for me to better successed in my future study, and slso for my future goals..
So far, i think the major difference from college to high school is that in college, most of the time i’m a self-learner rather than teacher giving a lecture; however,in high school, most of the time i learn inside the classroom and didnt do any explorarion outside the school such as doing reaserch by my own..
For now, the most challenging thing for me as a freshman is how to manage my time more efficiently. Maybe its because i havent get used to present college life yet, and i always feel i dont have enough time to get fully studied of certian courses.. And i know that there is going to be more work and more papers to write, i need to get used to it and be prepare for the challenges.
I’m a human being who’s living and enjoying life.
My three concerns as freshmen in college are social life, academic GPA, and internships.
The experience have been the same since I got Mondays-Fridays. Hopefully next semester will be different.
The first year of college might potentially help me get my goals in life planned out. If not, then I’ll just be having fun until I have to start paying attention to life.
That is a good question. I do not even understand myself most time expect that my name is chengqi yu and I have to eat, rest, and study to maintain my life. I am a person who do not like talk too much and actively.
My three concerns as freshmen in college are academic GPA, financial aid, and health, because my parents will not give me money for tuition and I am streed out by these course so that I do not have time to have a job. To be honest, I do not good at learning language. English is my biggest problem. It costs me more than threefold time to read the same text as others do. The terms almost kill me. I hope that I won’t fail the exams next week. I have no time to do sports, and I get headache frequently.
All the experience here is different from my high school, because I finished my high school in China. I have so many first time in Baruch College. I will try my best to adjust to it.
I am not sure. If I don’t fail any of my courses after the fisr semester, I think everything will on the track in the rest of my college life. If I fail in POL or MUC, I am not sure what will happen. It is said I won’t qualify to recive financial aid.
I am a freshman at Baruch College this Fall. In school, I pretend and try to show that I am a good student; also I am a little shy, quiet, and do not like to talk to people too much…..especially for those who I don’t know at all…. In fact, I am talkative and a little humorous when I hang out with my friends outside of school. Anyway, I am a little confused about myself. so hopefully, by going to college could help me figure out more about myself!!
My three concerns as a freshmen in college are social life, academic study(GPA), and time management. I strongly believe that all these things are the key to succeed in my college, and they cannot be separated. In a word, establishing a healthy social life, maintaining a good GPA, and planning an effective time management are very important, which I have to spend more time to work on it.
It is, of course, college experiences are different from high school experiences. Compared with high school, you have a great deal of works to do in college now, especially those never-ending readings. Another one of the biggest differences is: professors never come over with you and ask: “Do you have any questions or what don’t you understand so far?” unless you actively ask questions.
I don’t think that my first college year will change me too much, but hopefully, I could start talking more and more in English..
Obviously, i am a freshman who choose Baruch College as the first college adventure, and im still searching what major i am going to choose. it’s quiet difficult for me since i’ve thought about this question two years ago.
My three concerns about my first year at Baruch College are to get excellent GPA, enjoy college life not suffering, improve speaking skill.
i would try my best to achieve, not mess them up.
The difference that i’ve been noticed between college experience and high school experience is time management. you have to use any free time, even a break. it will help you to study efficiently and get enough time for sleep.
i think i can improve my time management skill at my first year of college and study skills.
who do I think I am? Emm…I’m a human being, who’s lazy, slow and like to postpone everything (like homework) tilll deadline.
Actually, I think after the first year at baruch, I’ll become mad and old. The endless assignments and pressdure drive me crazy. Of course, people may say, this is college and life should be like that. Yeah, it is. But the way I used to live in high school is totally different from now I do. When I was in high school. I used to scape from school and never finish homework. Since I came to college, things have changed a lot. The competition at Baruch and my self-respect are not allowed myself to behave like I used to do.
Because of my “comfortable” high school life, I’m very disavantaged in studying every course. My three main concerns are time management, exams and language. I think good time management will be better help me get through the courses. In addtion, as long as I have exams, I’m always depress and nervous..T_T I should deal with this problem. Finally, English, as my second language, brings me a lot of trouble to understand every courses…emm…..I think I should come up with some solutions to all the problem….
1. Tell us who you think YOU are!
I am a person who goes to baruch college as a freshman
2. Share your top 3 concerns about your freshman year at Baruch College and explain why.
1. grade – of course, i need to keep up with grades
2. friends – I always need to have a good friend
3. time-management- i can achieve manything doing this.
3. So far, what do you think will make your Baruch College experience different from your high school experience?
It is just different from high school in that professor does not care about you anymore.
4. How do you think your first year at College will change you?
I would be expert at time-management.
As for now I think I’m an ordinary human being who goes to Baruch College and is still seeking the path to the future that suits me.
Top three concerns that I had are grades, financial aid, and adjusting to the college style classes. Even though it’s only the 1st semester, I have already felt the pressure from the classes. It’s very hard to catch up if fell behind.
So far, I think it’s the way that classes in college are organized (twice a week) that is most different from high school experience. The way that high school classes carry out, where all classes meet everyday, helps me more understand the work of that class. Now that in college all classes are only meeting twice a week, I felt the responsibilities that I have in catching with the class and do my own study.
My first year will definitely help me with my time managing skills. Where I could organize my time for what should be done first and what follows.
I am a freshman at Baruch College. I am a Ukranian Jew who was raised in Brooklyn. I like to go out to many places and love experiencing new things.
My top 3 concerns would be: maintaining at least a gpa of 3.2, maintaining the amount of work i have to do, and experiencing college life to the full extend. I have to maintain a 3.2 gpa in order to keep my scholarship. Since, there are only 2 classes per week for each subject, I cannot afford to slack off; I have to stay as alert as possible and get the most out each lesson. Experiencing college to the fullest is more of a personal concern; college has a wide-spread of age groups so im interested to find out the people I meet this year and the following years after.
So far, my college experience at Baruch has proven how much more freedom is given to a student in college than that of a student in high school. My first year at college is definitely the beginning of reality. I am hoping to mature even more and be able to concentrate on whats important in my life, especially time management.
I change alot, but mostly i want to be free so i try not to care about worldly stuffs. my family want me to go to college but i am comin to college cause i am good in studies back then. its been only a year here in US but i have blended in well. I am NYcares volunteer, childfund sponsor(i was) and about 3 months ago, i ran away to vegas for a month. it was funnnnnnnnnn…
top priority this year is to make friends who are ‘real’, who dont care much about what people think or say. to get great grade. i also want to join the soccer team, but i dont want to overload my schedule, maybe next year. and also want to join those fraternity thing.
i did my high school in India and it was great. I enjoyed a lot, and i also got great marks. it was also the last year i was spending wth my best friends, so we kinda spent lots of time together.
right now, i don think my first year will change me alot, but i am hoping that i can be better at managing my time. its ok, i love the campus, the students here. i have my own plans which doesnt include college atall, so i actually didnt think much about it.
