Blog 1 – Who am I?
by jane.quach
Its such a simple question, but I don’t know where to start. I’m a petite half-Chinese and half-Vietnamese girl. I’m a daughter, a sister, and a friend to many people. I think I’m pretty fun and relaxed with friends and relatives. I love hanging out with friends when I have the time, and I’m extremely close to my many, many cousins. Although I’m usually pretty relaxed and fun loving, I can be serious when the situation calls for it. Thats a quick little summary of me.
College is pretty crazy and I’m definitely worried about a lot. But if I were to list my top three concerns, my grades would be number one. I really want to change in college and do better, not that I really did bad in high school, I just want at least a 3.0 and hopefully a 3.5. My next concern would be balancing work, school, and social life. I guess this kind of relates to grades too. My schedule is pretty packed, I dont have a single free day during the week. My third concern is meeting new people. I’m not shy or anything, but I tend to keep to myself when I’m surrounded by new people.
Baruch is definitely different from high school. For one, the building isn’t ancient and there is actually heating and air conditioning. Class sizes are different, especially in my Psychology lecture class. The experience as a whole is really different. Although, a lot of the people are the same, since it seems like half of my senior class from Brooklyn Tech decided to come to Baruch.
I’m hoping Baruch improves my skills overall. I want to be better at balancing multiple responsibilities while still having time to keep myself healthy. You know, time to eat and sleep. Other than that, I’m not sure how else Baruch will change me.
