Panel Discussion Reflection
by malisa.basic
The panel discussion question was quite different from what I expected and thought it would be. It is interesting to see how different Charles Li actually physically appears compared to the image I had created of him in my mind while I was reading his autobiography. In addition, it came to my surprise that he wasn’t the only speaker, but there were many along with him there. Thought it was great to see the author of a book I truly did enjoy, I wish he could have discussed his life, even though we had read about it. The way he could have described his life verbally might differ from the way I had perceived it when reading the story. I had difficulty hearing him, especially sitting all the way at the balcony. One influential quote I remember from one of the speakers was ” Be good citizens, and help others.” Though general, it was straight forward, as to what point she wanted to get across.
