I really didn’t have any expectations going into Baruch College or college in general. The media seems to exaggerate what students really go through, but close sources cleared up the hype and proclaimed that in actuality, college is just like high school. I have also come to that conclusion. So I just took it as it came. I have tried to make the most of my college experiences by sifting through clubs, attending different school events, exploring the wonderful campus known as New York City and making new friends. The first semester was overall enjoyable. Academically, I am still getting adjusted to the differences, but I am doing fine in all of my classes with no less than a B. What I would do differently is branch out a little more than I already have with the activities and such. Academically, I would have prepared myself for the curriculum and would have learned the material ahead of time, before it was actually taught. Since starting my first semester at Baruch College, I feel I have changed significantly. I have regained my focus on the things that are important to me, redefining and re-establishing my priorities, and I have rediscovered my passion!! =)
