I am 17 years old college freshman born and raised in Brooklyn, NY in a heavy caribbean household. My hobbies are drawing, playing the piano, handball, dancing and pretty much enjoying life.

My top 3 concerns about my freshman year at Baruch College:

1) I am particularly concerned about the workload I will be presented throughout the year and being able to adjust to it. I somewhat feel like I am still in the “senioritis” stage of my high school, and I’m really hoping to get myself together for the future. (P.S. my apologies for the lateness)

2) Another concern was that I might come down to my occasional shyness and that making more new friends or even presenting a monologue in front of  a class would be way out of my element. However, over the years, I have started to open up quite a bit and I’m hoping this shall continue.

3) I also feel that attendance and tardyness may become a problem at some point, seeing that I live so far away from the school and I am known for not being able to wake up on a morning.

What I think, would make my Baruch College experience different from my high school is definietly the fact that there is so much to do here with all of the clubs and teams etc

M first year of College i feel would make me feel a whole lot more responsible for my own academic actions, whether it be choosing my classes, knowing when to study for soon-to-come tests, making sure to hand things on time.
