Final Blog :D
a) My experience at Baruch is alot different than what I thought it would be. In the summer I really didn’t want to come here for some reason and I wish I had went away. Now I’m glad I came here;I kind of still wish I went away but I’m pretty comfortable now.
b) My first semester went good. I surprisingly had fun, met some good people, and made it through.
c) I would manage my time better if I could do it all over. I always find myself leaving everything til the day before or even the morning of the due date. Bad habit that I’ve had since like 6th grade, so I guess I can’t really change anything.
d) I don’t think I’ve changed too much this past semester. I might have become more care-free than I already was, which is probably a bad thing.
Career Exploration Blog
The Career Exploration workshop was okay. The woman speaking was very alert and kept my attention, I guess because she was trying to go fast. I think she layed out everything in that book we got on the way in. So I think it would have been better for her to just have given us the book because honestly no one is going to remember anything she said when it comes time to actually write the resume were all going to look in the book. But overall it wasn’t so bad.
Rubin Blog
I really didn’t like the Rubin Museum at all. Honestly, all I did was get the ticket, walk up to the second floor, glanced around. then made my way back to the front and left. All of those ancient artifacts do not interest me whatsoever.

So far college has been different than I expected. I’m not really sure what I expected but everything’s that happened so far has been a surprise to me.
My high school was extremely secluded from the real world, I guess you can say. It was full of either Irish or Italian American-born Catholics. So coming to Baruch and meeting all these culturally diverse people has opened my eyes to new things. I love talking to new people and getting to know who they are and where they come from.
Hopefully this school will make me less jundgemental of others because everyone is different in their own way. Honestly, I think I’ve already become a better person because of these past two months I’ve spent here.
I think I’m basically a free-spirited person who is up for anything and always looking to have a good time no matter where I am or who I’m with.
Blog #1
So, everyone already knows I’m Danielle, an average eighteen year old girl from Staten Island trying to have a good time. I THINK I’m a good friend and fun to be around. I’m always trying to laugh and being surrounded by people who try to make me laugh. That’s basically the jist of who i think I am.
Freshman year at college brings along with it a few concerns. Such as: 1. Being able to fit in here. Sometimes I walk around like I’m in a stranger in my own school so hopefully by the end of the year I’ll find a sense of placement. 2. Earning a GPA in the same range as high school. Unrealistic, maybe, but I’m used to doing much better than I am now, so that’s another concern. 3. Lastly, I’m just going to say I’m concerned about whether or not I will ever get used to the commute I must do to get here. It takes just under an hour and a half to travel here from my house and I hope I learn to deal with it, otherwise I’m never going to want to stay at Baruch.
So far Baruch College isn’t in too much contrast to my high school. Except for the discipline aspect. I came from a Catholic School which had a strict dress code but I actually liked being told what to wear. It definitely took away the hastle of picking out a new outfit everyday. Besides that college, in general, is obviously more lenient than high school. I’m able to eat, drink, chew gum, text, and call people pretty much wherever I want. Also the fact that I only take either two or three classes a day is pretty nice. I was used to seven periods, separated by bells and annoying announcements all day long. At Baruch, you’re on your own and that independence is what I’ve been waiting for.
Hopefully my first year at college helps me transition from a teenager into an adult with responsibilities. Just in the past month I feel like I’ve already matured so let’s see how I am in June.
Okay, see everyone tomorrow!
