Baruch College is a great educational institution with a lot of good people and almost unlimited resources. I honestly can say that I like this school and (as a college) it has lived up to my expectations and more. However, unfortunately, I’m planning to transfer to another school since Baruch doesn’t offer the major I decided to pursue. This semester has been really fast and I’m disappointed at myself for for being uncaring and irrational about my educational career. Otherwise I enjoyed these past three months as much as they could have been enjoyed!
Career Exploration Blog
I’m not really sure which of the workshops this one was, but I’m pretty sure it was the one where the woman talked about internships and stuff. SO here we go. I clearly remember walking into the auditorium and sitting down. The woman who led the workshop was courteous and at the same time firm. I found it very helpful because I understood that I have to transfer since(sadly) Baruch college does not offer any engineering or architectural degrees…

I don’t want to lie in this blog, so I’ll tell the truth. I went in bought the ticket and left… That is all I have to say about that.

My experience at Baruch has definitely been an eye-opening one. In many ways, it did meet my expectations of what college would be like in terms of the amount of work, the level of maturity in the students, and the numerous activities throughout the campus to participate in. My first semester I think went pretty well. I met alot of nice people whom I hope to keep in contact with after the semester is over. I definitely feel though that I could have done better in terms of managing my time and not procrastinating my work. Since I’ve started college however, I feel like I have matured in terms of realizing my priorities.

the Rubin Museum
I really enjoyed my experience at the Ruben museum. I found it very interesting and informative. I found the Nepalese Legacy in Tibetan Painting exhibit very interesting. Not only were the paintings beautiful but the history behind the paintings was fascinating as well. When I was wondering the halls of the Rubin Museum I Kept thinking about how lucky I was to be able to go to this museum and take advantage of this great museum

The Career Exploration workshop, to me, was actually very informative. They showed us alot about how one should create their own resume, which I had learned a while ago, but needed to be refreshed. In which, the speaker told us what to put in and what not to put in, and generally how to conduct ourselves in an interview. There was something mentioned about some sort of Starr Search thing, though I was not quite clear of what it was. All in all, I learned quite a bit from this workshop.

My visit to the Rubin Museum was pretty interesting in some ways. I definitely took interest to the sculptures that depicted many Asian cultures, specifically Buddhist, and Indian cultures. Aside from the sculptures though, there was not much else to keep my interest. I feel as though a little bit more interactivity would have caught my interest more. All in all, i thought it was an “okay” trip.

My experience at Baruch so far has been okay. The environment doesn’t really suit my personality but the school itself in terms of classes and the friends I do have is pretty awesome. I feel like I could have done better this semester but glad it went the way it went because now I know where I have to improve on and where I should place my priorities. If I could do this over I would study more in the library where I can focus better. I dont think that I have changed that much since I have attended Baruch, maybe a bit more reserved because I know where I stand now because I understand the environment and the people here now.
