My Baruch experience was okay; not bad and not really any “wow.” My first semester could have went better if I didn’t keep going to philosphy late and sleeping in my classes….If I could restart my first semester, I would pay attention in class. Last but not least, I do’t feel I have changed.
Career Exploration
The Career Exploration workshop was very helpful. The fact that so many helpful tips for developing a career were given was nice. Now, I know how to write a resume, get ready for an interview, and how to use Starr search. I felt that the workshop was a very helpful one.
Rubin Museum of Art
When I went to the Rubin Museum of Art, it was annoying because going there took long. When I went, I thought it would be terrible because I hate museums. When I actually went, it was a bit better than I expected…
Rubin
The Rubin Museum of Art, was quit some experience. I will admit, this was a weird museum. I never was intrigued by art. It all seems kinda pointless in my eyes. However, I did go to the museum just to write this blog. I did not like the museum and it was a waste of time.
Rubin Experience
Getting to the museum itself was an experience because it was cold, raining, and we only had two umbrellas for three people. It took us a while to find it but when we did we were like, “what kind of museum is this?” When we walked in a doorman put our umbrellas into nice plastic bags and led us to get tickets. These were no normal tickets either… they had stickers on them. When we finally went to see the exhibits they were rather odd. Many of the statues seemed to be in various sex positions and, being the mature men we were, we laughed. The most interesting exhibit we saw was most likely the buddhist shrine with the weird mantras. For me personally it was interesting to see all of these different religions and cultures in one place even though in the outside world they are constantly in conflict. Me being a christian it was interesting to see the religion that most of my ancestors were and how a lot of those customs are still practiced today even though a lot of us are of a different religion now. Some things are passed on and survive the times no matter what.
Baruch Experience
Blog#3 – Baruch College
1. I think that for the most part Baruch has lived up to my expectations. I have enjoyed my experience here and i actually like it, i could see myself here for the next four years. I’m actually pretty excited to start taking classes that i want and am interested in.
2. I think that my first semester at Baruch went really well. I think it went a lot better than i expected. I’ve been able to adjust to the school and get used to everything. I also have been doing way better in all my classes than i expected to.
3. I dont think that i would do anything differently. I’ve managed to do well for the most part in most of classes. I’ve learned that studying can get you really far, so if anything I’m pretty proud of myself.
4. I think that the one thing i really learned during this semester is time managements. Between work and school i’ve had to manage my time very carefully to make sure that i do well in school. So that’s definitely the biggest change.
career workshop
Blog#2 -Career workshop
By the time we went to career workshop i already had a resume, but she gave me a lot of pointers on how to fix it. I learned the basic professional layout of a resume as well as the important things to mention in a resume. What i also found helpful was that they gave us an idea about what to list on our resumes a college students. Besides the resume i also thought the interview pointers she talked about was very informative and helpful. Overall i think the whole workshop was something that was really t our advantage and provided us with a lot of useful information.

museum
i already posted my museum blog but here it is again..
Personally, I think museums are one of the most boring places on the surface of this planet, therefore this trip wasnt very inspiring. However the musuem was very beautiful. The staircase was amazing, I plan to build one just like it my house one day =]. Standing on the staircase, with the aromas from the cafe in the air, didnt really have any influential affect on me. I thought the cafe was very pretty none the less. It didnt really trigger any new ideas for me, i sort of felt like everything there probably had some sort of significant relevance to it but i was incapable of understanding that, so i really didnt feel like i belong there. It’s not that it made me feel comfertable, i just know that i couldnt appreciate it for what it really was , because it wasnt of much interest to me. Sorrry ! =/
Baruch College
When i decided that i was going to baruch i thought it wasent going to be a good choice for me, since i didnt want to go there in the first place, the college atmosphere that i think i belong in is one that have all the multiple things that make a college experiance fun like partying, dorming, freedom, but here at Baruch i have non of that. The partying part ok i have a little of that but all the other stuff i dont, and i regret not having that. The main reason why i came to Baruch is because i have to work, thats the main reason, its close to were i work and i live about 40 mins away. Even though i hate it, i still have to do it.
I think my first semester is going pretty well. Im really happy with the teachers i got, and i couldn’t ask for a better schedule. And my grades are pretty good so I’m happy.
I would manage my time more properly, everything is kind of mixed up for me right now, with work, school, and my personal life, so if started my hole semester over again, i would defiantly manage my time better.
I don’t think i changed at all, Baruch didn’t really impact me personally.
Workshop
The workshop was really helpful for me, that was the extra advice I needed in order to finish my resume that I have been working on for some time know. It didn’t help me do my resume since i finished it already, it helped me a lot with the cover letter since i didn’t even know we needed a cover letter so thats a +. And it helped me choose which classes i wanted to register for next semester.
