Museum

To tell you the truth I didn’t really learn anything from the museum, it was really boring however i thought it was really nice, that it had a spiral staircase which was really cool, and the cafe looked really good as well, but other than that ,it was really boring a dull. Waste of time…

All Three final Blogs

1. Their wasnt really anything special when I visited the rubin museum.  Their wasnt that many people their besides a group of highschool kids that were probably on a field trip.  Overall nothing was interesting in that museum, I just ended up looking around to see if their were anything cool, but overall their was nothing interesting.

2. I learned a couple of things at the workshop like the resumes, but I already had one by the time I went their.  But their were things that were useful that I learned like what to list on our resumes while we are in college.  Overall i think that the workshop was kind of useful.

3.  When I found out that I got accepted by Baruch I didnt really expect much.  I knew that I was gonna be doing the same things that I am doing now before I went to Baruch.  So I really didnt expect much.  I am thinking about transferring out but since I want to major in buisness and knowing that Baruch is a really good buisness school I am yet deciding on it.

I think my semester in Baruch went alright, but the work was hard for me, but I tried my best to achieve a good grade.  I am going to try my best to get a good grade when I take the final exams.

I wouldnt really do anything different because I did try my best.  I have been studying for exams and stuff but when it gets to the point where I take the exam I tend to forget everything which was my main problem.

One thing I learned during this semester was basically managing everything on my own without any help from my parents.

Career Exploration Workshop

2 What do you think you learned at the career exploration workshop?

At the career exploration workshop, I learned how a resume should be written and different tactics to use in a job interview. I also learned about the Starr Career Development Center at Baruch College. The career development center could be useful to me in the future at Baruch.

Rubin Museum of Art

1 What was your experience at the Rubin Museum?

My experience at the Rubin Museum of Art was not really anything too special. Although the art was nice, truthfully I did not find it to be that interesting. If I was asked to describe one certain aspect of the museum that stood out to me, I really do not have an answer.

All Three Blogs

i already posted my museum blog but here it is again..

Personally, I think museums are one of the most boring places on the surface of this planet, therefore this trip wasnt very inspiring. However the musuem was very beautiful. The staircase was amazing, I plan to build one just like it my house one day =]. Standing on the staircase, with the aromas from the cafe in the air, didnt really have any influential affect on me. I thought the cafe was very pretty none the less. It didnt really trigger any new ideas for me, i sort of felt like everything there probably had some sort of significant relevance to it but i was incapable of understanding that, so i really didnt feel like i belong there. It’s not that it made me feel comfertable, i just know that i couldnt appreciate it for what it really was , because it wasnt of much interest to me. Sorrry ! =/

Blog#2 -Career workshop

By the time we went to career workshop i already had a resume, but she gave me a lot of pointers on how to fix it. I learned the basic professional layout of a resume as well as the important things to mention in a resume. What i also found helpful was that they gave us an idea about what to list on our resumes a college students. Besides the resume i also thought the interview pointers she talked about was very informative and helpful. Overall i think the whole workshop was something that was really t our advantage and provided us with a lot of useful information.

Blog#3 – Baruch College

1. I think that for the most part Baruch has lived up to my expectations. I have enjoyed my experience here and i actually like it, i could see myself here for the next four years. I’m actually pretty excited to start taking classes that i want and am interested in.

2. I think that my first semester at Baruch went really well. I think it went a lot better than i expected.  I’ve been able to adjust to the school and get used to everything. I also have been doing way better in all my classes than i expected to.

3. I dont think that i would do anything differently. I’ve managed to do well for the most part in most of classes. I’ve learned that studying can get you really far, so if anything I’m pretty proud of myself.

4. I think that the one thing i really learned during this semester is time managements. Between work and school i’ve had to manage my time very carefully to make sure that i do well in school. So that’s definitely the biggest change.

Three.

a. Tell us how your experience at Baruch College has lived up to your expectations? Not lived up to your expectations? Exceeded your expectations?
At first, I really hated Baruch for how much it was just like my High School, but now, it’s not so bad once you get used to it.  I think Baruch lived up to my expectations, it’s just you need time  to get used to it.  It’s not bad.
b. How well do you think your first semester at Baruch College went?
It could be better, because I’ve been slacking a bit.  I think I need to focus more on my priorities and manage my time better.  My schedule was also great, so that helped a lot.

c. What would you do differently during your first semester if you could do it all again?
I would join a club or something, maybe.  And stop my slacking before it was too late.  I was also do my homework, which I slacked on as well.

d. How have you changed since you started at Baruch College?
Since my first week here, I’ve managed my time a lot better and I’ve been doing all my homework.  No more procrastinating.  I’ve come to like the library because it gave me a place to quickly finish my homework that would’ve taken me hours to do at home.  I hope that the winter break won’t cause me to slack again for spring term.

museum

ever since i was little i never really liked the class trips to the museum. even this visit to the Rubin museum of art didn’t really leave me with anything i could walk away from and be interested. i liked the layout of the museum and the setting resembled what it was about. the camera in the bottom floor was cool to look at. they had books in glass to look at. nothing really stood out to me from the museum but it was nice to look at the different things. if it wasn’t for the class, i would have never heard of this museum. it was a very different atmosphere than the other popular museums. it was a lot more smaller and spaced out.

CareerWorkshop.

What you think you learned at the Career Exploration workshop last week

At the career workshop, we learned about STARR search which I thought was interesting and helpful, but I doubt I would ever use it.  We also learned about how to write essays, but I’ve already learned it multiple times so it was nothing new to me.  The workshop itself was alright, the speaker was inviting and clear, and the presentation was great.  I just thought it was information that you could look up yourself, so I didn’t really find it helpful.

Baruch so far has been interesting. i got to meet a lot of new people and learned that i have to stay on top of my work.  it is what i expected. i like the fact that unlike my high school your not required to stay in the building or else you get detention. you could step out at any point at Baruch.

my first semester at Baruch went pretty well. i mean, i could have definitely done better but i guess i have to get used to it. senior year i was lazy with everything and did the minimum amount of work, at Baruch, you have to put in your best effort. i hope that next semester i do a little better than i did this.

if i c0uld restart my first semester, i would definitely take more time in my work. i thought the grading system was the same as high school but its a little tougher. you can do enough to just pass but you have to put in an effort to get a good grade.

since i started Baruch, i think that Ive become a little more responsible. i always had the mentality that if i didn’t keep up with something, someone else will do it. but now i realized if you want something done, you have to do it yourself.
