Career Exploration blog

The workshop about resumes, internships, and professionalism was kind of useless other then the fact that it taught us how to use Starr Search.  In my high school I was part of the academy of finance program that guaranteed us an internship during summer of our junior year. That meant that the program had to teach how to create a resume and act professionally. However what I really appreciated and enjoyed most about the workshop is they taught how to use the complicated system of Starr Search. Before the workshop I attempted to go on that website and had many difficulties with it. The seminar helped us get adjusted with Starr Search and told us that it is possible to get an internship as freshman.

Academic Enrichment blog

Most of the panel discussion about the Bitter Sea was about identity, the panelists were sharing there most important moments in their life’s that helped them define who they are. After listening to the entire panelist group about there experiences that really defined who they are I began to think about my own experiences that make me who I am. As I pondered about this question I kept thinking about soccer. Does soccer really define who I am? Is it possible that it can? Well makes sense since I am constantly a rounded it. Ever since I was introduced to that sport my life began to change. I met my closest friends and it became my hobby. But what was really life changing was when I scored my first goal for my first professional team. It was feeling that I would never forget. The excitement and chanting of the fans , my team jumping on top of me as we celebrated that goal because it was the winning goal as well. I believe that if anyone asked the question Who Am I? I would them to go watch one of my soccer games.

Rubin Museum Of Art

This museum was extremely interesting and different from most others. The atmosphere completely changes once you enter the museum. As you walk in from the noisy and fast pace city it feels like you come into a different world. The museum is colorful and each color sort of changes your mood. The Rubin museum held lots of different art from the western cultures such as Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan and so much more. There was one sculpture that really caught my attention and that was the Great Hierarch. It looked a monk mediating and enjoying his peaceful life just like I wanted to do but couldn’t because of college. Most of that sculpture was made out of silver and that really caught attention since it worth 27 dollar per once!

Monologue

Chelsea's Standford Bride-My favorite teams stadium

Everyone has that one place, that one friend, that one relative that you go to; to relax. Every time you visit that place or person your usually very excited because it is the one place were you cab find a piece of mind and forget about all your problems. For me, I do not have have a place or a person to go to. If I am seeking to release some pressure their is only one thing that comes to my mind: SOCCER!!!! Whether watching or playing for 90 minutes I completely forget about all my problems. I’m either rooting for my favorite team to win or trying my best to defend my team’s goal. If you ask me why soccer, I really do not know. However, what I do know is when I officially discovered the sport during my freshman year of high school my life has completely changed.

Who do you think you are?

I think I am a pretty unusual and unique individual. Some consider me to be weird others see me as very nice kid to hang out with. I have two rules that I live by and they are never give up and always be there when your family and friends you. I don’t like to give up or quit on the things I start. If start something I plan on finishing on it with the best of my ability. Some see me as a hardworking person since I have never ever failed a test. You can usually find me playing ping pong or soccer at Midwood field with my friends. My 3 concerns about my freshman year at Baruch College is pretty much like everyone’s is. The first is too makes sure that I got A on every class I take. I understand that this pretty much “mission impossible” but I believe with a little of hard work you can achieve anything if you try. Second is making new friends, most of my friends from high school pretty much went away from the city, but I am the only one that decided to stay. Finding friends that you can trust with pretty much anything will be a difficult task on its own. Third and finally, is to find the perfect club that will help me explore Baruch to its fullest potential. Since I am paying for my education for the first time I want it to best experience I have ever had. Baruch College is completely different from my high school just on one fact, freedom. My high school restricted our activities and didn’t even allow us to bring our phones in. Secondly, in high school teachers really nag you on your performances and contributions to the classroom. In college the professors don’t really care, if you do your work that’s great, if not that’s too bad for you. Most people think I am pretty immature for my age so I want my first year at college help me to mature me.
