Timothy Lee

I think I am an average student that doesn’t try to hard at anything but at the same time i don’t try to little.  I’m easy to approach and very sarcastic, so don’t take anything i say to seriously.  If I’m ever confronted with a challenge I will deal with it to my best of my abilities and if i can’t handle it I’ll ask for help.  In turn I try to help out anybody that I am capable of helping.  I play a lot of video games and I love to play ultimate Frisbee.

My top 3 concerns as a freshman are reading assignments, waking up for class and actually doing homework.  Reading assignments feel completely new to me.  Normally I wouldn’t power through a reading because I really didn’t care enough.  Now in college these assignments have more importance and requires more attention than I would normally give them.  Waking up is a pain because I just never do.  Every day I set my alarm earlier so i can give myself the satisfaction of snoozing because if I don’t I just sleep through the alarm and wake up 2 hours late.

The biggest difference between high school and Baruch is definitely the difficulty of my classes.  Back in high school everything was a joke.  I didn’t have to do anything and i still graduated with a 92 GPA.  My whole U.S history class would completely derail the class everyday.  We would bring in movies and have paper ball fights, reminiscent of snowball fights.  We would set up the chairs as forts and we would just throw paper balls from one side of the class to the other for the whole period.  I had about 20 absences every year from 10th grade to 12th, where 28 is the max amount.  But now, in college, I actually have to try and put effort into my work, which I haven’t actually done in years.

Hopefully the my first year at Baruch will make me more responsible and have a stronger work ethic.  I believe it is already changing because I’ve done homework whereas in the past i did absolutely none.  The next step is actually studying because i hear that is pretty important.
