Baruch isn’t really different from what I expected it to be. It feels like high school but maybe a bit simpler. I think my first semester at Baruch went well and mostly because I had so much free time compared to high school. I can’t imagine now, how I lived through 8 classes a day, 5 days a week.  Thinking about it now just seems like torture. In that aspect, Baruch has been great because there’s more flexibility and more freedom. The class that I was most worried about was Calculus but surprisingly, it is much easier than the Calculus class I took in high school in terms of tests. I would have to disagree with some of the earlier posts that say that the Professor does not explain things thoroughly. In my opinion, I think she does a great job of going through each problem step by step and she does take the time to go over anything we don’t understand. My most challenging class would probably be Communications but I have to say that this was probably the class that helped me open up the most. Although public speaking will never be my forte, this class made it just a tiny bit easier to get up in front of people and speak. English with Watson was probably my favorite class, for obvious reasons but I think it is always good to have that one easy class in your schedule. I think I would’ve gotten a better experience if I had dormed. It is hard going to a commuter school and keeping the same friends because you will rarely see them again next term. I’ve gotten so used to our learning community class, that it will be hard to start all over next term and meet new people.
