Career Advisement

The career advisement was moderately helpfu. Most of the things they told us were pretty much common sense, like not to dress like a skanky hoe during interviews or to send a thank you note afterwards. Some of the things they told us helped alittle, like to be confident in the interview and research the company you’re interviewing for beforehand so you can answer their questions better. Also that asking questions about their company was good too, but not about faux-pas things like starting salary and such.

This workshop, although mediocore, was much better than the first with Charles Li. But as a side note, the peer mentor in the front, on the left, was incredibly annoying and obnoxious. I felt that she put way more importance on herself and her authority than what was reasonable. Also I had an insane headache that day and her foghorn mouth going off every 5 minutes didn’t help in the least bit. I don’t mean to be mean but really, she took her authority way too far, and it really did ruin part of the experience for me. Too bad huh?
