academic advisement
I thought that out of all the workshops, the academic advisement workshop was the most useful. It helped me prioritize and organize the classes so that I had a general idea of what classes to take next semester. It was also very useful because it told me the requirements for each school and for graduation. This way I know what grades and classes I need to graduate and to get into one of the three schools.

(1) At the seminar, there were five people sitting on the stage. Most of the people were talking about identity. Because many of them did not feel they fit in the community they were brought into, they felt that they did not know who they were. And they talked about how throughout life and through their life experiences, they were able to find themselves. The seminar was a little boring but some of the points they made about losing themselves and their idinty was interesting.
(2) Their tips on how to present oneself well during an interview was very useful. Especially when they told us that we should always write an email back to our interviewer saying thank you. I thought overall the whole seminar was informative and I will definately be taking use of their office from now on.

Hi! I’m Jane Choi. I like to do things that are fun and exciting. Like shopping. I really like to shop. If there was a job out there that just paid me to shop, I would totally take it. And even though I’m pretty bad at sports, I really love to take part in them. Like swimming. I think swimming is really relaxing and I love the water. I also really like tennis. It’s a really exciting sport. I even went to West Point for a two week tennis camp. No joke. And golf. I was on the golf team in high school and it was fun. I think golf can be really boring for a lot of people, but I like it. But it frustrates me sometimes because it’s a mental game and sometimes when you start off bad, you just can’t get out of the slump. I think snowboarding will become my new obsession though. I only went once so far and even though I came back with my butt bruised so bad I couldn’t sit on them for a while, it was really really fun. I am hoping to be able to go again this winter break with my friends and hopefully spend a couple days up in the mountain so I can actually improve. And I really want my own board!!

a. I’m not sure who I am exactly because sometimes I even surprise myself. But I can tell you that I am a korean girl who has grwon up in ny for her whole life and has big expectations for herself.
b. My first concern of course are my grades because unlike high school I don’t want to mess up and have certain opportunities out of my reach. My second concern would be getting an internship because for what I want to do, experience is very important. And my third concern would be friends? I want to be able to make a lot of new friends who I will be able to have a lot of fun with.
c. Well I am thinking about joining a sorority, so if I do get in, then that would definately make my college experience different from my high school one.
d. I am hoping that my first year at college will help me become a more responsible person.
