For me, college is a mixed experience. On one hand, I like the independence of it all. Such as being able to (eventually) pick my own classes, going to school on my own time, and just doing whatever I want generally. The problem with Baruch, that I’ve seen, is that people just come here and then they leave. There doesn’t seem to be much of a community. Even looking at all the clubs, I couldn’t find one that called out to me. Yeah I’ve met cool people, but nobody that I can say that I talk to or hang out with outside of class. In high school, everyone was close knit. There were no cliques and everyone pretty much hung out with everyone. I expected college to be pretty much the same with even more partying, but so far that hasn’t happened. Hopefully when I get to choose my classes and find my true calling at Baruch, college will be a much more enjoyable experience for me.
