I love the City which is why i go to baruch. One day i will get a respectable job and live here. But thats going way ahead. For now i live in Queens and itz a pretty quiet life. I like pizza and t.v. Superficial things, i kno but i dont want to get too deep on the first post. Im looking forward to really getting into collage life. I dont know what club to join though the peer mentors sound interesting. plus they get paid. lol. I really like my Peer Mentors Ari and Ben bcuz they are the super cooolest ever!!!! blog number one :)
well I couldn’t exactlly tell you who I am all in one blog but here’s a start. My name is Laura Cheek I’m 18 years old and I am a freshmen at Baruch college. I’m a spontaneous, intelligent, funny, unique, creative, and determined person. A few concerns I have about my freshman year at Baruch are passing my classes, managing my new freedoms, and waking up on my own for classes. So far my experience from high school vs. Baruch differs because of my new schedule, change from teachers to professors, and living in the city as compared to Long Island. I feel my first year at college will change me for the better. I feel it will mature me and mold me into being an independent person who will be super successful in the future.

Who am I?
My name is Ryan Jason Berman and i was born and raised in Roslyn NY. Its mad chill there considering it is a suburban area and I usually spend my free time hanging out in the many open houses with my friends. I am my own person and make decisions on my own however i also respect my parents word. In Baruch I hope to successfully become a wealthy businessman and learn how to build my way up to the top with whatever I decide to do.

A. I think I am a very unique individual. I dress however I please and I don’t really care what other people think (most of the time!)
B. I really only have one concern and that’s getting the grades that my parents have come to expect of me.
C. So far, Baruch feels like high school to me. This is my 2nd time being a college freshman, so I’m more used to it than most. It feels routine now.
D. This is technically my 2nd year at college, and I hope to further develop as a person.

a. I’m a creator through body and music.
b. My first concern about my freshman year at Baruch is passing the courses to save time and money. My second concern is learning to better manage my schedule, so that I can get done what I need to get done and still go into school awake enough to concentrate. My third concern is to learn history and theory in music class that will benefit my own music.
c. There isn’t much of a difference yet, but I’ll probably see it once I’m done with general ed. courses.
d. I have a strong sense of who I am and what I want to do. My first year of college isn’t going to change that.

a. I think I am very strong and real person. I am very respectful and i always expect the same. I try my best not to judge people. I pride myself in being a woman and being from Dominican Republic. Sometimes I can get caught up in what is going wrong in my life so I have to take time out to appreciate all the good things that i have been blessed with.
b.Three concerns i have about freshman year are: 1. time management. Sometimes im not very good at taking time to sit down and reading a certain book for a class or leaving an assignment for the last minute because im busy doing something else. 2. falling behind in classes. Im worried that the further we get into the year the classes will get harder and i may not be able to do all the assignments or hand them in on time. 3. not enjoying the college experience because im worried about my classes. I really dont want to be one of those girls who leaves school and then goes straight to work and makes no time to appreciate all that this school has to offer me because im worried about getting to my job on time or getting home to study for a quiz the next day.
c.I think that the main thing that will make my experience at Baruch different from experience at high school is the freedom. High school was so restricted and it was the same thing everyday and all the teachers were on top of you for the homework or projects. At Baruch the teachers aren’t really concerned with what you choose to do with your time and if you dont do your homework and what you need to do, its on you. Another thing that i think will make college different from high school is that its everyone seems to be pretty focused on doing their work in this school and doing well in class. In high school there were always so many distractions. There were parties and friends and things you “had” to do because everyone else was. I feel like everyone here is just focused on themselves.
d.I think that my first year in college will change me by making me realize what i have to prioritize. In high school, my priorities werent really in order and i wasnt really focusing on school work when i had to focus on it. I would wait until the last minute to finish things and then be scrambling to hand things in by the deadline. Right now the assignments and homeworks have been fairly easy so iv been managing my time really well and getting things done before i have to hand them in so that i dont have to worry about later on.

Tell us who you think YOU are!
My name is Tommy Ren. I was born in China. My real name is Mengling though I would prefer to be called Tommy. I am 18 years old and I am a student at Baruch College.
Share your top 3 concerns about your freshman year at Baruch and explain why.
My top 3 concerns are my grades, meeting friends, and learning how to be responsible. I want to get good grades for obvious reasons and I want to make new friends because it is always good to.
So far, what do you think will make your Baruch College experience different from your high school experience?
My experience has been good. There are no major problems so far. The main difference between high school and college is that in college I will get more freedom but I also have to be responsible. Also people care less about what I do since I am now an adult but people are also less active about helping out so it is up to me to seek it.
How do you think your first year at college will change you?
I don’t really know. I will be interesting to find out.

Who Am I?
I am a pretty laid back person. I don’t like to write much, especially things about myself, I never know what to say.
My biggest concerns for freshman year are that I won’t pass precalculus, will be overloaded by my courses, and managing my time with a 3.5 hour commute everyday. The reasons are pretty self explanatory.
I think the amount of work in Baruch, and college in general is very different from that of high school.
I think the first year of college will help me to be an overall more intelligent and well rounded person.

Hello, How Are You?
A) My names Steven Asarch, and I am the byproduct of a consensual bond between a man and a woman (that’s usually how it’s done).
B) My top three concerns at Baruch have to be: the lackluster teachers that have been forced upon me because its going to seriously affect me in the long haul, the amount of kids that are still thinking their to high and mighty to talk to me ( most of those kids are definitely high, but the mighty thing just grinds my gears), and that its a bit harder to adjust than I am used to.
C) I think the amount of things there are to do in New York City has severely impacted me. I’m a stand up comic and I’ve doubled my stage time while making some serious new friends.
D) I think I will become a lot more relaxed and controlled then what I am now. ZOINK!

post one.
I think I am someone who people can count on. I have always helped my friends with their problems and given them advice. I like to be there for the people that I care about, and I hope they’ll do the same for me. I am also someone who definitely over-thinks things often. I hate it, but I always always over analyze everything, whether I want to or not. I am also someone who cares about my family a lot. I grew up living close by to my father’s family, and have always loved my family. My cousins are like older siblings to me, since I don’t have any of my own. And last year when I went to Pakistan, I had a chance to really meet my family from my mother’s side, and love them a lot as well. I always put my family first. I am also someone who’s not very social. I have been called mean, but I don’t think I am. I just have a few best friends, and I am happy with that.
My biggest concerns in my first year of college are that I won’t be able to handle the coursework. In my senior year of high school, I didn’t do much work, so I am afraid that having such a big change will effect my grades. I am also concerned that I won’t take the right classes. I’m not sure what I want to major in, so I don’t know what classes to take in my second semester. I am also concerned about managing my time. I’ve never really been good at doing that, so I don’t know if I’ll be able to. Hopefully I will.
My college experience is already very different from high school in many ways. For example, my professors do not really tell us what we have to do. Instead, we have to look at the syllabus for our homework. Also, the environment is very different. We are allowed to do anything during our breaks, whereas in high school, we have to stay in the buiding at all times. And also, there is a LOT more work. In high school it was really easy to just get by, but in college I find myself working all the time. Also, no one in college really cares that much about making friends. At orientation, some kids were even saying that they don’t want to make friends, and they just want to get their degrees with no distractions.
I think my first year of college will make me work harder. Especially since I didn’t do much work in high school. This year I hope to learn how to manage my time, study well, and be on top of all my work and never feel overwhelmed. I hope that I can stay focused on my goal of getting a 4.0 GPA and that I am consistent in both the first and second semesters. I do not want to do well this term only to have my GPA go down next term. I want to keep my grades high all through out college.
