1.Baruch has lived up to my expectations according to workload and difficulty. I had pretty good luck with the teachers this semester. I am pretty happy with how I did. It did not live up to my expectations when it comes to social life though. As many have said, it feels like highschool.

2. My first semester went great. I think I did well in all my classes.

3. If I could do my first semester over again, I would try to get more involved in the school. I have not joined any clubs or activities as of yet.

4. I have become more responsible since starting Baruch. I got a part time job and learned to manage my time and work.

My name is Tommy Ren. I have already briefly introduced myself in my first post. School is going pretty good for me so far. I don’t have much to complain about because I was relatively lucky with the professors that I have gotten. I have taken midterms for most of my courses and the results are fairly good.

I have not really discovered much about myself that I had not known before. I have not changed that much either. I’m still a very quiet and shy person. I like having free time to relax so college is a big relief compared to high school. I like the shorter school days and greater freedom that college provides.

As far as my identity goes, I think I am a kind, generous person. I am also very relaxed. There are not a lot of things that make me angry or scared. I find that small and simple things make me happy and that the people that are closest to me are my family, particularly my sister and cousin. My biggest challenge right now is motivation. I am not lazy and not doing my work but I don’t feel the incentive to get involved in anything. I hope that I can find something that will spark my interest because I am still not sure what to do with my life yet. Academically, I am pretty good across the board but I hope that by the end of this year, I will find my true passion.

My name is Tommy Ren. I was born in China. My real name is Mengling though I would prefer to be called Tommy. I am 18 years old and I am a student at Baruch College.

Share your top 3 concerns about your freshman year at Baruch and explain why.

My top 3 concerns are my grades, meeting friends, and learning how to be responsible. I want to get good grades for obvious reasons and I want to make new friends because it is always good to.

So far, what do you think will make your Baruch College experience different from your high school experience?

My experience has been good. There are no major problems so far. The main difference between high school and college is that in college I will get more freedom but I also have to be responsible. Also people care less about what I do since I am now an adult but people are also less active about helping out so it is up to me to seek it.

How do you think your first year at college will change you?

I don’t really know. I will be interesting to find out.
