My experience thus far at Baruch has been mixed. Academically I have been doing well and am enjoying learning from my professors, but the social experience hasn’t been that great. That’s really all I have to say on the matter. I plan on transferring to the University of Miami for the fall of 2011.

Chris Ambrosio
Good Morning,
My name is Chris Ambrosio and I’m a freshman here at Baruch College. I am 100% Italian with my roots tracing back to Naples and Sicily. I am fascinated with politics and fancy myself a staunch conservative. I enjoy discussing and debating people on current events both domestic and abroad. I’ve developed a personal philosophy on success, which I’ve dubbed the “holy trinity”. The key to success is: a close shave, a crisp collar, and a stiff drink. Looking like you know what you’re doing in 90% of the battle. I would describe myself as a confident, although sometimes too confident, guy who doesn’t like to take no for an answer. When it comes to family and friends I try to be as helpful as possible. The most influential person in my life is my father because he taught me right from wrong, and what it is to be a man. Though random, I fear both clowns and totalitarianism. The three things that make me most happy are seeing that my loved ones are happy, the Yankees winning, and just plain having a good time with my friends. The thing most important to me is my family’s well being and happiness because without my family, I wouldn’t be where I am today. School has been going pretty well for me so far. I’ve been able to keep up with all my assignments and haven’t had too much trouble understanding the material being taught to me. Right now the biggest challenge I’m faced with at Baruch is trying not to get too bored and restless in classes in which I already know what is being taught. Lastly, the thing I enjoy most about the college environment is the amount of freedom we have. I very much enjoy being accountable to only myself and not having the administration breathing down my neck with every decision I make.

Who do I think I am? Im a confident, although sometimes too confident, guy who likes living life to the fullest. I try not to complain about situations I may find myself in because there is always someone out there who’s life is much more difficult than your own. I also enjoy golfing and hanging out with my friends.
Regarding concerns about freshman year, I really don’t have any. I already completed a year of college at CW Post in Long Island, so as far as getting used to the college atmosphere, its a non-issue.
My college experience will definitely be a different one from my high school experience. I attended an all boys Catholic high school that has the reputation on Long Island as being the toughest high school on Long Island both academically and discipline-wise. So the environment at Baruch is much more lax compared to that of my high school.
I dont think college will change me. Im pretty thick headed.
