  1. o wow! nobody commented this question…maybe there’s no difference between high school and college for them, but for me it does.I have finished my high school in Albania, and there the high schools are so different from the ones here. But for me it’s going to be a little bit difficult in college,i mean the first school year.this is going to happen because everything is different:the classes,,the language(sometimes i am confused from some definitions that maybe i don’t know),the environment, the classmates, etc. The teachers are friendly and u can feel free to discuss with them about the lessons or the everyday life.In addition,nd I think the most important for me,it’s that I have to study harder than I used to study in high school, because now I am feeling closer of becoming someone in life and i want to do my best to reach that.So far I am very happy with everything in college.I can say that I love it 🙂 !

  2. Hmm,,
First, we have to call “professor” in the college instead of “teacher” in high school. And we have wider environment to communicate with a lot of friends than before. The most different thing is that the knowldge is more difficult than in high schools, and we have to study more by ourselves,,Although we might be feel free but in fact we have a lot of things to do by ourselves.

  3. So far, College has honestly been very similar to high school. There are much less similarities than I thought there would be. However, there are still some differences. First of all, as stated above, we must call our teachers professors. Furthermore, the commute is longer, there are more students, a more diverse community, and a larger campus, that is, New York City.

  4. I have been to the college for a month. I find there isn’t much difference between the college and high school. they both let us come to school everyday, do the homework and review. But the college gives the students more books to read and there is few exams in the college. The professors measure students grade more by the work students usually did than the grades students get from the text.

  5. I find there to be a lot of differences between college and high school. In high school I used to be able to get out way earlier than I do now, senior year I was out by 11 and now I start at 10 45 and get out at 4 35 which makes my day feel so much shorter. It also takes me way more time to commute from my house to baruch. I’m given a lot more work than I was used to in high school. I also know less people than I did in high school. I guess I’ll get used to all these things as I adapt to college.

  6. There aren’t that many changes. I’m still taking the elevator to class, food still sucks, and the people aren’t any different than those in high school.
What HAS changed is the amount of reading we have to do, the amount of freedom and extra time between classes, and having to call teachers Professor ____ instead of Mr. ___ or whatever honorific. Also, my schedule changes drastically every day; on Mondays and Wednesdays I start at 9 and on Tuesdays and Thursdays I start at 11. Seriously, what the heck.

  7. i think the biggest difference between high school and college is that i feel like i have to be very formal when i talk to professors..Being a formal student drives me crazy..even though it’s been 4 years since i graduated high school,i still remember like yesterday the relationship between me and the teachers i had in high school..we were like very close friends..professors do not have to be cold to students..we don’t bite them 😀

  8. There are few differences between high school and college. First, we call teachers “professor ?” instead of “Mr.?, Mrs.?, and Ms.?”. When I go to college, I have to pay tuition. Also, I only go to college four days in a week. In high school, i have to go to school 5 days in a week.

  9. the work in baruch is a lot easier than my old hs. the workload is smaller so i can handle it pretty well. i am happy to see a lot more friendly and social people. I am tired, however, of the whole bureaucratic process of getting anything done in the school. I had a lot of trouble transferring to this school because of lots of blocks on my accounts for very stupid reasons. Most of my teachers are very friendly, except for one teacher who is a total retard. I really dont understand how anyone gave her a teaching license.
