I learned that I will suck at the interview because there is nothing interesting/impressive about me. Also, I can’t start talking about my special honors or anything like that because they don’t exist… *huff* That extends to my resume as well. I have random skills like spotlighting, cooking, knitting, AutoCAD, Photoshop, and some architectural skills. What’s that going to get me? Nothing.
There’s definitely more STARR workshops that you can attend to improve your interviewing skills such as personal pitch. They were really helpful to me so, you can definitely look online and see when they will be having similar workshops. It’s all about motivation. And the ‘random’ skills you have on your resume can actually get you can internship somewhere! It shows that you are:
1.productive, and not just a ‘student’
2.innovative and creative
3. a visual person
4. willingness to learn
So even by just looking at your resume the employer can already begin to assess your skills.Your skills would really be good for any internship art related, marketing, or something that combines or has to do with art and the office environment. 🙂
I liked the STARR workshop it was very helpful. I will definitely use it later on i the future. I learned most of it in one of my high school classes but it was a good refresher. I would attend another STARR workshop, it was very beneficial and i think more of them will help me out a lot later on.
I enjoyed the STARR workshop. The presenter gave nice tips to improve my resume and my interviewing skills. Though most of it I learned already it was nice to hear it again just to as a reminder.
The STARR workshop was very helpful even though I have attended other resume workshops before so I do know how to write a resume, however it did refresh my memory. I don’t think I’ve been told about that personal pitch and at my last interview I wasn’t very well prepared for that part.I will definitely have to come up with that soon. I also don’t think I had a computer section on my last resume I will have to add this because im computer repair certified so this will make my resume better. Also im gonna go to that STARR search website to start looking for internships because even though I don’t qualify yet I can start preparing for them. Since this workshop was really helpful I will have to attend more STARR workshops.
STARR workshop it was very helpful for me too.is going to help me a lot in the future for my interviews.i haven’t done my high school here,so this was the first time that somebody professional was explaining that to me.i have done resumes from what my friends have told me,but not as sophisticated as the one that we were explained.i didn’t know the part where we are going to describe ourselves, and i was so surprised.but at least now i know. so i am going to prepare a nice personal pitch 🙂
STARR workshop really tought me what i really wanted and i got to know how and what should i prepare for my left years in the Baruch moreover for the future.
kkkk Maybe i have to attend more and learn more from there.
STARR workshop was helpfull for me,i never wrote any resume in english ,so i learned a lot about on what i should concentrate more in the future to make a good resume. Also i think its a good idea to learn it in freshman year,so that we dont have to get paronized when the graduation comes.I dont have any job experience here in US,i found out that we can find lots of internship opportunities from starr which i think really cool.
At the workshop, I learned that I could put my previous jobs, that I thought were not relevant on my resume. That helps a lot, because I thought that I couldnt write them down on the resume, and that is was a shame I had done all that for “nothing” . She explained to me how to put it and it helped a lot.
I had no idea before that day.to be honest, though i was sleepy, i knew something really important from there and i got some idea about the interview, resume and some thing that is related to my career .
nice
i meaned that will help me for my career
i mean that will help me for my career
sorry for repeating those ,,,,,,
The STARR workshop that day was like a refresher course for me. I have gone to other resume workshops in high school before so I already knew how to write one. The presenter did give us a few tips that I wouldn’t have know, like you can keep things from high school until your sophomore year. I would totally attend other STARR workshops because I feel that I need improvement on speaking and small talk with others.
The STARR workshop taught me a lot believe it or not. It showed me a new source of information. I can go to them to help me with anything with regards to applying for jobs. Looking for jobs is a little less stressful now.
The STARR workshop had a lot of useful information to help get started on making a resume as well as making sure the whole hiring process goes smoothly. They covered the important details and didn’t digress into anything more than they needed to. I would definitely consider attending another workshop when I need to start applying for internships or jobs.
I would definitely attend another STARR workshop. I think this one was helpful in how to write a resume. The sample handout is a good thing to keep for the furue when I will 100% need it. Also, I didn’t know that we can use our high school activities until Sophomore year, I’m glad I went so that I knew that as I apply for things at school like scholarships and Team Baruch.
STARR Workshop is really helpful. In this workshop, it taught me how to write a resume. Also, it taught me what should i do when i go to interview. I think I would attend another STARR workshop
Starr workshop was a great opportunity for me to make things clear about how to make resume..the things i didn’t like about the workshop was the girl who presented all these..she was kind of boring!!
THe STARR workshop didn’t really teach me much, i already knew how to do interviews but i’m sure it did help other people. One thing i did learn however was the opportunities that are laid out by Baruch to learn more or to gain an edge over the competition in interviews of resume’s by using their website and their workshops. I will definitely look into that.
I learned that diabeetus is bad. M’kay.
