1) Tell us who you think you are!
I am Anjelica. I am eighteen. I are blogging. I hate grammar. Grammar hate I. But seriously, I think I’m an average girl with an average life, average everything. I aspire to greatness, which is pretty average. Right? However, I am not so sure what greatness is or how to acheive greatness. If greatness means ruling an ancient empire, well then I’ll have to pass. But if greatness means being a good person, well then sign me up! Or maybe, I’ll just sign myself up, and then I will be average and independent! Wahoo. I guess like the theme of many great literary masterpieces I am trying to find myself, not that I’m lost. Gosh, you know what I mean.
2) Share your top 3 concerns about your Freshman year @Baruch and explain why?
My top concern is finding myself so overwhelmed by school that I struggle in my classes and fail miserably. But honestly, I do not plan on that happening. I would say it is an irrational fear. My second concern would be not making any friends and lacking a social life. That’s no fun. My third concern would be not meeting my own expectations. I have high standards and I want to succeed. I am sure many others feel the same exact way.
3)So far, what do you think will make your Baruch experience different from your High School experience?
First of all, the biggest difference will be not having to ask permission to use the bathroom! No, the biggest difference is the responsibility. You manage your time, no one reminds that you have an exam next week or you have a paper due the next day. Essentially, you are on your own, and that is a good thing. I like the idea of not being treated like some, oversized, dependent baby in an academic setting. Another difference is the much nicer schedule. It is a lot easier to manage how and when you will complete schoolwork when you are not confined to basically living in school. You go to your classes, you can then go home, or to the library, or to the park, or anywhere really. The choice is yours. And I certaintly like having choices.
4)How do you think your lst year at college will change you?
Well for one thing, I’m sure I will become a much more educated person. I will know a lot more about the world than when I first began school at the lovely, lovely Baruch College. I will be more independent, I will know myself better. I will be an overall more diverse person in nature. I will know more about the city I live in. I will become more accustomed to public transportation. Essentially, I will change for the better. I can not think of any negative changes that will come my way by attending college. However, I know at the end of the day that I will still be me, I will still aspire for greatness, and all that Jazz. Or Hip-Hop. Or New Wave. Or whatever. 🙂
