Story time! (About me)

A) Hey guys, my name is Richard. I’m a Korean-American and I was born in New Jersey and moved to New York within a few months. I currently reside in Queens and have been living here practically my whole life. There isn’t much to say, I consider myself an ordinary guy. I love and care for my family and friends, although I don’t have anyone yet to call my ‘best friend(s).’ I also love tons of other things such as drawing, video games (Pokemon, Zelda, COD…I can go on and on about this), and the internet (Memes are awesome). Yeah, I love to draw. It is pretty much my art skills that give me a bit of a unique identity. I’ve won a few trophies when I was younger and also seem to catch people’s attention with my creativity. I am also currently managing my own little Facebook page.
My personality depends on the person/people I am with. I usually enjoy being very random and joking about defying the laws of physics…I’m not weird, or maybe I am? I also enjoy being kind to others and help people through difficult situations no matter how private it may be. Sadly, such assistance would usually be deemed as awkward. Its sad that people can express personal problems about things on websites such as Yahoo Answers, but in real life its weird.
This past year was rough and I am going through hard times, but I won’t go into detail on that.
So for now, I am trying to start anew here at Baruch and I hope to make new friends I can trust.
To wrap it up, I feel I am a kind-hearted individual with an open mind with a hint of seriousness.

B) What is bothering me the most as of now is homework. I haven’t even gotten more than half of my textbooks yet because they’re currently being shipped. I feel like I am lagging behind and I can’t organize myself this way. Another thing that worries me as of now is time management.  I come home really late so I need to adjust myself into cramming a bunch of reading into one night and I feel this is crucial to getting a decent grade. Another one of my concerns is whether or not I should stay in Baruch. I am currently an undecided major and just recently I felt business doesn’t really get my attention.

C) It is definitely the emphasis on independence that makes me think Baruch College will be different from my high school experiences.  Unlike high school, I am now responsible on managing when I get my work done. As I have heard numerous times, our professors won’t care if individuals don’t get work done so I have to stay focused and on task.

D) I have yet to see how things turn out at Baruch, but that depends on if I find interest in a major. For now, I think my first year at Baruch will make me mature and prepare me for the real world. I feel that I will become more independent, more socialized, and more open minded from the courses I take, the people I meet, and the general environment itself.
