Unsure of my absolute direction with my choice of major I attended the Create Your Own Major workshop. Although the workshop was interesting and it did give me some more insight on a path I can take in creating my own major I do not see myself actually using this new knowledge and putting it to use. Although I am not positive i still believe that marketing will be the best major for me.

Baruch Voices
I did not very much enjoy the Baruch Voices. I felt what was wrote was heartfelt to the person who wrote it and should have been read by them and not by some random actor that may not be able to even connect with the person who wrote it.
Rubin Museum
Visiting the Rubin Museum was a enjoyable experience. The all around architecture and layout of the museum was well thought out and very eye-catching. While there my favorite piece was a celebratory mask that looked almost like a monster. It was very large and had a sense of realness to it.
Community Service
For my community service I had to plan and conduct the restoration of a restricted area in Clay Pit Ponds Staten Island. The restricted area was once abused by locals and became a great mess. It has been made a restricted area in 2008 to promote its growth. Since than the area has been inhabited with wisteria which is a invasive species that actually destroys the enviorment. The community service included the removal of this wisteria and the general maintenance and protection of the enviorment. After a long day of hard work there was a great sense of accomplishment and all that participated was happy with the good that they have done for the community.
monologue
Wow what a day. Less than 12 hours ago I had to say “see you later “ to that special someone and now I’m introduced to this whole new world. I’m not talking about the world of college and school, you can get used to all that real quick. But I’m talking about this new world without that someone. Sure we’ll still see each other whenever we have the chance to and of coarse well still talk. But its just that thing of knowing the distance we have between us that kills me. When I had to look at her for what almost felt like the last time, knowing that she was leaving and say goodbye, I collapsed. That wall of how people know me as an impassive person crumbled. For the first time in my life I felt helpless. Its incredible how something so important can be taken away so quickly. But in my case nothing was taken away because I still have that special someone. Every day I think about the times we’ve shared and the ones coming in the future. Because even something like distance cant keep us apart. -Tyler Sharkey
