A. Tell us who you think you are.
I think I’m a nice and outgoing person. I think I’m smart and filled with my skills to achieve my goals. I believe I’m a cool and funny person to be around with.
B. Share your top three concerns about your freshman year at Baruch College and explain why.
My first concern would be keeping up with the work. I know that college work is much harder than high school. So I know I need to change my studying habits and organzing my time better.
My second concern would be getting good grades at school. I know that having a high GPA is very important to getting a good job when I graduate from college.
My third concern would be managing my time in regards to school and work. I want to do good in school but I also want to make money. So I just want to managed my time and keep up with my work at school.
C. So far, what do you think your Baruch College experience differ from your high school experience.
I would have to say the environment is a much more serious than high school. I would have to say more is expected of you than in high school.
D. How do you think your first year in college will change you.
I believe college will make me a more responsible person. I also believe college will help me mature and help me grow in my leadership skills.
A. Tell us who you think you are?
I as an identity am Gregory Romano, but this question poses so much more than that. At this instant in time I can define who I am, unfortunately come tomorrow this question would have been answered differently. I am constantly changing as I am influenced by my friends, family, and even society. The most constant definition I can put together for myself are the roles I hold in others lives. I am a son, a brother, a cousin, a friend, a boyfriend, a student, a teacher, a worker, unfortunately I can go on all day long as could anyone else. I am a person.
B. Share your top three concerns about your freshman year at Baruch college and explain why?
1. Keeping up with the work load: Although in high school I took college and A.P. courses the environment was much different. I hope that I can adapt to the new atmosphere and keep up with the heavy readings we’re assigned.
2. Maintaining a high GPA: I know its not everything, but your GPA plays a major role over the jobs you’re able to earn. Again I hope I can keep up with my work to maintain a good GPA.
3. Enjoying my time at Baruch: I travel an hour and 20 minutes to and from school everyday, the earliest I get home is 6:15 where I come home to either work or homework. I hope i can find the time to enjoy myself during my Baruch career.
C. So far, what do you think will make your Baruch College experience different from your high school experience?
Coming from a catholic all boy high school, the Baruch College is much different for me. You’re allowed much more freedom and determine your own fate.
D. How do you think your first year at college will change you?
I think through my first your of college most obviously my realm of knowledge will expand. Furthermore, I think I will become more disciplined and better accustomed to the college environment for learning, but more so to life.

a. Tell us who you think YOU are!
This is a very interesting question because most times we are busy judging others that we don’t really take a step back and judge ourselves. For starters I’m a daughter, a granddaughter, a sister, a friend, and a student. Besides the obvious things I’m also a bookworm, a “know-it-all”, a listener, a dreamer, and an achiever.

- Keeping up with the work load.- Since college is a lot more demanding than high school I worry that I will fall behind.

Hey everyone! I know I wasn’t with you the whole day at Convocation and I wasn’t able to sit through the long activities with you all. 🙁 But tell me how the experience was.
What was your favorite and least favorite activity and why? Did you meet new people? And how was the indoor block party/barbecue?
To refresh your memories, your activities were:
1. First Year Experience Seminar (this is where we talked about the freshman text)
2. Performance of “Voices III”
3. “Sexuality: Making Peace with Passion”
4. ADL Diversity Training
and
5. Baruch Beginnings Block Party & Barbecue (It would have been so much nicer outside but it rained.)
Note: This isn’t a mandatory blog but I’m interested in what you guys thought and we can share our experiences with Convocation together! So be honest! LOL. 🙂
