Hello, everyone. I’m Ying Chen. I came from China. I live in Brooklyn. I’m concerned about getting a good grade, joining the clubs and making friends. I think the differences between college and high school are you should manage you time and study by yourselves. I hope everyone enjoy our freshman year.

Hello :)
Hi everyone, my name’s Diana. I went to Edward R. Murrow High School. I am from Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I use to be a sporty person playing basketball, soccer, and other sports, now I only play badminton and volleyball. My hobbies are reading books, listening to music, learning new languages and surfing the web. I enjoy meeting new people. I also enjoy doing community service. As of right now I still feel nervous about college. One of my concerns is passing all my midterms and finals. In the past, I’ve heard how hard these tests are so I’m really worried. My second concern is getting good grades for every class. My third concern is being involved in Baruch; I really want to make new friends but for some reason it seems really hard. I also wanted to join a club since I joined various clubs in high school like Key Club, National Honor Society, and Asian American Club, but as of now I still can’t decide which club to join in Baruch. College is different from high school. Baruch is a diverse community and there is a large amount of students compared to high school. In college, it seems that we have to be independent and more responsible for ourselves. The first year at Baruch will definitely make me more mature and independent. Hopefully we all have a great semester!

who am i?
My name is Shan Lin, I came from China with my family three years ago.At first, I was in california, after one year, I moved to New York beacause my parents brought house here.In fact, I didn’t want to move to nyc bacause it is a new place for me again. But later on, I had to agree to come NYC. I lived in Brooklyn and graduated from Franklin D. Roosevelt High SCHOOL. There are several people I knew came to baruch, and Ying is one of them, so we spent most school time together.I lived with my mother and young sister and brother. My father stays in China and he will be here twice a year.My three top concerns in Baruch will be join a club, get good grade, make more friends.I think the experiences in college different from high school is professors are not really care about how can you finish the work, they just care about the results and the grades from quizs or tests. And the homework is extreme more and harder than I was in high school. The first year I spend in Baruch, I expect I can improve my writing skills and public speak skills.
Hi.
Hi, I’m Byron Li. People always ask me if my parents named me after the famous Lord Byron. Well, I hope not because I hate poetry. I am a graduate from Brooklyn Technical High School. Moving into Baruch, I’m concern about if it can provide me with the skills and education that I need. To be honest, Baruch is not one of the top choices I set my eyes on during the college process. Another concern is communication, something that I am very weak on. So far our block do not have a strong unity despite having most classes together. I see that Baruch have more to offer and promises opportunities than other colleges. Let’s just hope Baruch lives up to its words. In terms of experience, everything change except the commute. The one hour trip to Baruch and back is the same as the last four years. Besides that, the learning is more independent. Time is in our hands and it is flexible with the breaks it gives us. Most importantly, Baruch doesn’t feel like it have as many students in the halls as in Tech. I don’t feel like I’m rushing through the busy streets in Broadway every time I go to class. Overall, I think Baruch is good, very good. I hope everyone will have fun. Cheers to DMC!
Hiiiii
Hello everyone! This is Jing Zhang. I’m Chinese, and has been in U.S. for 6 years. But my English is still very bad..I live in Bayside, Queens and graduated from Benjamin Cardozo High School. I think the biggest difference between high school is college is that the professors expect students to read and prepared for the assignment before coming to class. It really helps students to become more responsible and independent. And also, college is a much more sociable place. In my spare time, I like to stay with my computer (drama, chat, game, etc.) So, I don’t like going out except when it’s shopping time. Anyway, I hope everyone can have a succesful and wonderful experience in Baruch College. Let’s have fun!
HELLO
Hi, everyone. My name is Ka Hang Lei, but all of you can call me Kason. I am also a freshman in Baruch like all of you. I live in Oakland Gardens, Queens and I went to Benjamin N. Cardozo High School. My intended major is Accounting which sounds really boring. I hope we are going to have a wonderful semester together. LET’S GO , DMC!!
Hello
Hellooo guys! This is JooAe Lee. I know it’s hard to pronounce my name for some of you guys. It’s “Ju” “A”. (If that makes easier) I’m Korean and I live in Bayside, Queens. I don’t have any sibilings haha. I wish I had one. I graduated from Cardozo High School. I like to take pictures of scenary and any random things. I’m thinking about transferring to other school because I don’t think business or accounting suits for me. But I don’t want to be complicated so I still have to think about it more. Baruch College is a new experience for me. I always wanted to have someone around me and I didn’t like to be alone. But in Baruch, I got to have more time for myself. I’m now getting used to this and enjoying it! Also I met a lot of new people but I’m kinda sad that our block is not that close to each other. I hope we all get to know more!
