First Week of College!

Hello everyone!

I hope you all are enjoying your lovely Labor Day Weekend. The weather is GORGEOUS this week. Take advantage of the last of these warm summer days before the bitter cold kicks in!

I really want to make an effort to keep this blog lively; so I will try to participate frequently. Keep in mind that you are all welcome to post here! (Keep in mind of the rules and regulations! REMEMBER that this is a SAFE ZONE.)

With that said, I want to know how everyone’s first week went? What was it like to finally be in college? Were you all able to navigate around the campus? Did any of you join clubs yet? Am I the only one who found the first week HECTIC?

My first week of college was very difficult. The classes were long but the professors were teaching so fast. Everything in college feels so much faster. Thers so much to learn in such a short period of time. The 25 minutes breaks feel less than the five minutes breaks i used to have in high school.

The one thing that i didnt fid to difficult at Baruch was navigated around campus. I reached everyone class on time. The only problem i had was finding the 23 building.

My first week of college has made me nervous for my next four years. I hope I can adapt to the college work load and pace. Hopefully in a couple of more weeks I will feel comfortable and make Baruch my home.

Thank you for sharing Bakhtiar. I understand what you are feeling right now because I went through it not too long ago.

I also think college is very fast-paced. I guess it is one of the trade-offs to getting more freedom in college. It is true, the 25minute break feels like a SECOND! I can never get enough of the break time.

I am glad that you were able to navigate through the campus successfully! (Although the 23street building aka 17 Lex (in case you haven’t heard of that name before) ALWAYS gives students trouble)

In terms of being nervous, I think it is completely normal! In fact, I think it is good that you feel nervous. I mean, this IS supposed to be a new experience! In terms of adapting, this is what Freshmen Seminar class is about! You instructor (Katie) and I are trying our best to help your transition into Baruch. We will try our best to provide you with resources that you will need for the next four years!

So…hopefully, by the end of the first semester, you will feel a little more at ease with the college!

Keep in mind, if you ever need anything, we are here to help you. (this goes for the entire class as well!)

    What do you mean ridiculous?

When you write three full pages of notes in an hour, that;s pretty ridiculous
