Who am I ???

My name is Josh Teperman. I was born in canada and lived there for 15 years. My mom got remarried to a native New Yorker , so he brought the whole family to New York.At first the thought of moving made me nervous, but over time that feeling went away. I started to look at my situation as a new adventure or chapter in my life,i could start fresh. The first couple months in New York were weird, new and intresting. The differences between New York and Toronto are huge. For one everybody in New York has an attitude, as if they all have a chip on there shoulder. In Toronto, we are very hospitable and easy going. New York is also the biggest and loudest city in the world ,so i understand why its called “The city that never sleeps”.Toronto is totally opposite ,yes it may be big but not even close to how happening New York is. Over the last three years i have acclimated to this place , and i have to say i really love this city. Now that i am attending Baruch, it gives me a chance to live as a young adult in the city that scared me so much before i lived here.So far Baruch is going well ,but i have a few concerns.Well for one, i dont like how Baruch feels like a giant high school, with its small class rooms and lack of campus life. But my biggest concern is how i will adapt to college life and the workload . Over time i am sure i will get the hang of things and become a pro college student, but as of now the whole idea is actually very scary .In high school your parents and teachers would tell you ” Do well because your college career depends on it!”.Since high school grades no longer affect me,its all about my college GPA. This GPA isnt only going to affect my college career it can affect my entire life. So the whole idea of college vs high school is very different .Like i said earlier in my blog,i am now living alone in the city. This means i have my own schedule and a lot of me time. What i mean by that is,its my time to grow and figure out what im going to do with my life .That is what my first year of Baruch will do to me, make me more mature .Even though i am nervous about many things ahead of me ,it will be a great expierence and am excited to see where it takes me .

Its hard for me to imagine living in anywhere but New York, I love the noise and people. Still Canada is awesome your national anthem is way better than Americas. You moving and being able to adapt to New York shows you can adapt to any environment and this includes college. It does take a while but it grows on you and I have faith you will be a pro college student. I like how you are taking time in your life to help yourself grow as a person many people dont take that time and get through college and exactly the same as when they entered.
