lets see, where do I begin? Well my name is Jeffrey Kim, and I am a Korean-American currently living in Queens. I am not really sure who I am because i’m only eighteen and there so many emotions and experiences that I still haven’t faced. Only by the outcome of different events, might give me a clue to who I am. However, I believe that I know my heart and that I enjoy socializing, sports, school, and friends just to name a few.
My top three concerns in Baruch are academics, socializing, and academics. I want to be able to do well because I winged high school and i cheated on a lot of my regents/ classes. I would like to start Baruch with a fresh start because high school is for getting into college while college is for life. Since i’m attending a commuter school i have to try even harder to socialize and i hope to make the right friends for obvious reasons.
So far commuting will make my high school experience different from college, instead of five minutes its now an hour thirty.
I think my first year in college will change me by making me a more studious student. Other than that i not really sure what to expect.
Just a heads up cheating is penalized more in college. I felt the same way you did about high school. I felt like I wasn’t challenged and any challenges i face where easily overcame by looking to the paper to the student next to me. But I feel this challenge helps you grow and be ready for the real world. Also a benefit of trying harder to socialize is that the reward is greater. The friends you make in college will most likely stick by you longer than most high school friends.
